Job Description
We are seeking Administration Officers to join our Front Office team at Westmead Private Hospital on a casual basis.
About the Role
In this role, you will provide administrative support to patients, visitors and clinicians across various areas of the hospital. As an Administration Officer, you will be a highly organised and enthusiastic professional with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
The position will involve a range of responsibilities, including customer-facing duties, switchboard operations, ward clerk responsibilities, data entry, responding to customer service enquiries, performing health fund checks and general administrative tasks. You will also be responsible for managing patient records, processing patient payments and receipts, and ensuring administrative duties are performed efficiently and accurately in line with our Ramsay Core Values.
The role will be performed on a rotating shift basis and will require a flexible approach to meeting the needs of our patients, visitors, and clinicians.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Representing the company in a positive and professional manner by delivering a high standard of customer service to patients, visitors, clinicians and other customers.
- Responding to patient and doctor enquiries and providing timely and accurate information.
- Completing administrative tasks associated with patient pre-admissions, admissions and discharges, including health fund eligibility checks and providing patient estimates.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and processing relevant documentation in accordance with hospital procedures.
- Processing patient payments and receipts accurately and efficiently.
- Managing competing priorities effectively while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and clinicians to support the smooth and efficient delivery of front office services.
- Performing all duties in accordance with hospital policies, procedures and Ramsay Core Values.
Skills and Experience
To be successful you will be a well-presented individual who possesses highly developed communication skills, is flexible and excels in a multi-disciplined team environment.
You will also demonstrate:
- Proficient in administrative and secretarial skills
- Robust background in customer service
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to meet tasks headlines.
- Strong work ethic, initiative, punctuality, integrity and respect for others
- Swift and accurate typing skills with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Additional Information
