National Professional Practice Governance Lead - Acute Clinical Care

Job Description

Ramsay Health Care is seeking an experienced registered nurse for the position of National Professional Practice Governance Lead – Acute Clinical Care to provide national clinical leadership across professional practice, governance and workforce capability. Reporting to the Director of Nursing & Midwifery Governance, you’ll work across Ramsay’s national hospital network to strengthen clinical practice standards, support the delivery of evidence based care, and drive excellence across acute clinical services, including the care of patients with complex clinical needs. This is a unique opportunity for a senior clinician to influence clinical practice at a national level, strengthen professional standards, and improve outcomes for patients across the Ramsay network. Please note that this role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Perth.

What You’ll Do

You’ll provide national clinical leadership across professional practice and acute care, working with hospitals, clinical leaders and multidisciplinary teams to strengthen clinical standards, workforce capability and patient safety. A key focus will be improving the prevention, recognition, escalation and management of clinical deterioration, ensuring evidence based practice is translated into consistent, practical approaches across the Ramsay network.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide national leadership across professional practice, clinical governance and acute care.
  • Translate evidence and best practice into national clinical standards, policies and frameworks.
  • Partner with clinical leaders, executives and multidisciplinary teams to drive consistent practice.
  • Lead workforce capability, education and competency initiatives in partnership with Learning & Organisational Development.
  • Provide national stewardship of ALS, PALS, NALS and Mock Code programs.
  • Provide consultation on clinical quality, risk, patient safety, scope of practice and competency.
  • Support incident review and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Bring

You’ll be an experienced Registered Nurse and clinical leader with a strong acute care background and a passion for professional practice, governance and patient safety.

You will bring:

  • Current AHPRA registration and significant acute clinical experience.
  • Experience in clinical leadership, professional practice, governance, quality or education.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in areas such as Critical Care, Emergency Nursing, Acute Care, Clinical Governance or Education.
  • Strong understanding of the NSQHS Standards and contemporary clinical practice.
  • Experience leading clinical improvement, governance or workforce capability initiatives.
  • Strong influencing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to operate effectively across a complex, national and matrix environment.
