Job Description

Join Ramsay Health Care’s national Legal Services team and provide practical legal advice across clinical risk, claims management, regulatory, privacy, compliance, and healthcare operational matters. Reporting to the General Manager, Legal – Clinical, Operations & Privacy, you will partner with hospital leaders, corporate stakeholders, and external legal providers to identify and manage legal risks, strengthen governance, and support safe, high-quality patient care across Ramsay’s national network. This is an opportunity for an experienced healthcare lawyer to make a meaningful impact within one of Australia’s largest private healthcare organisations. Please note, this is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity.

What You’ll Do

As Senior Corporate Counsel, you will provide practical legal advice and support across Ramsay’s clinical and operational environments.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Provide legal advice across clinical risk, claims management, regulatory, privacy, compliance, and operational matters.
  • Support medical malpractice claims, partnering with internal stakeholders and external legal providers.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documentation, agreements, policies, and related materials.
  • Advise on risk management, governance, and compliance frameworks across Ramsay Australia.
  • Partner with hospital leaders, corporate teams, and key stakeholders to deliver practical, commercially focused legal solutions.
  • Manage competing priorities while maintaining confidentiality, accuracy, and high-quality outcomes.

What You’ll Bring

You are an experienced legal professional with healthcare, clinical risk, or regulated industry experience, with the ability to provide practical and commercially focused advice in a complex environment.

You will bring:

  • Admission as a solicitor to an Australian Supreme Court.
  • 7+ years post-admission experience.
  • Experience in personal injury, medical malpractice, clinical risk, or related legal matters.
  • Strong legal drafting, negotiation, and advisory capability.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and influence a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative approach.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience working independently while contributing to a high-performing Legal team.
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office capability.
  • A willingness to mentor and support colleagues.
