About Role: 

The Clinical Trials Coordinator works closely with the Manager and Principal Investigators and all associated staff to co-ordinate and support clinical trial research activities conducted at the Hospital to ensure that a high quality, professional and efficient research service is consistently provided.

In this role, you will support the delivery and management of clinical trials and research projects, ensuring compliance with study protocols, ethical requirements, and regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with participant recruitment, eligibility assessments, informed consent processes, and study randomisation.
  • Providing information and support to patients and families regarding clinical trials and research activities.
  • Coordinating ethics and governance submissions, amendments, and regulatory documentation.
  • Managing clinical trial data, ensuring accuracy, completeness, confidentiality, and timely entry into study databases.
  • Maintaining essential trial documentation, site files, and study records in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.
  • Supporting the collection of patient-reported outcomes, quality-of-life measures, pathology specimens, and other study-related data.
  • Monitoring and reporting adverse events and serious adverse events in line with protocol and sponsor requirements.
  • Coordinating trial medications and assisting with study procedures as required.
  • Preparing reports, statistics, presentations, and research-related documentation.
  • Collaborating with clinicians, multidisciplinary teams, sponsors, pharmaceutical companies, Clinical Research Organisations (CROs), and national and international research networks.
  • Representing the research team at meetings and contributing to the successful delivery of clinical research programs.

About You:

You will demonstrate: 

 

  • Understanding of a clinical trials methodology and knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) requirements.
  • Demonstrable commitment to high professional standards in all aspect of work.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability working in a multidisciplinary health care team.
  • Ability to develop rapport with patients and their families in stressful situations.
  • Computer software, informatics, data collection and/or media skills.
  • Demonstrable excellent communication and organisation skills.
  • Understanding of importance of confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Substantial working experience in a research or clinical environment, including experience in the conduct and coordination of clinical trials is desirable 
  • Understanding of ethics and governance in clinical research is desirable

Additional Information

  • Must provide or complete a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months.
