About Role:
A new and exciting opportunity has become available for motivated and enthusiastic Senior Occupational Therapist to grow your career and provide the best quality care for our patients. You will be providing clinical support as part of the Occupational Therapy team at the Joondalup Health Campus Mental Health Unit. The MHU has undergone major redevelopment and has a new facility with a capacity of 102 beds, including adult, youth and older adult units.
This is a permanent Full-time role (job share arrangements will be considered) Casual positions are also available.
Applicants for the P2 Senior Occupational Therapist role must have a minimum of two years' clinical experience in an acute mental health setting to be considered.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will meet the following selection criteria:
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration with AHPRA
- Minimum of two years clinical experience in acute stroke wards and/or an inpatient acute hospital setting and mental health setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, service providers, external agencies, patients, families, and caregivers.
- Demonstrated ability to apply clinical reasoning, sound judgement and complex decision making at an advanced level of practice, considering broader implications and longer-term impacts of decisions
- Experience providing clinical education and supervision to junior staff members and students.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and prioritise a busy clinical caseload alongside associated administrative responsibilities within a hospital setting
- Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop client-centred, occupation-focused intervention plans in collaboration with patients, the multidisciplinary team, and consulting medical staff
- Evidence of ability to identify clinically appropriate interventions and implement evidence-based practice into service development
- Well-developed skills in preparing written reports and NDIS applications
