An exciting opportunity has become available for a highly motivated and experienced clinician to join our management team at North Shore Private Hospital! As the Postnatal Midwife Unit Manager, you will be taking on a key leadership role within our Maternity ward.
You’ll be working closely with the clinical team to ensure the efficient management of staff and resources. This will be with the overall goal of ensuring excellence in care delivery in line with policies and procedures and best practice. Reporting into the Clinical Services Maternity Manager, you will be mentoring and leading a passionate team of nurses and clinical support staff so this role will suit an individual driven to help others succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be accountable for the clinical, operational and professional leadership of the maternity ward
- Ensure the delivery of safe, high‑quality patient care and optimal clinical outcomes
- Plan, implement and evaluate practices, processes and services in line with Ramsay Health Care standards, legislative requirements and best practice
About You
The successful candidate thrives in a complex and demanding environment and is able to work collaboratively with medical, nursing and executive colleagues. They strive for continuous improvement, quality and safety initiatives, workforce management and effective resource utilisation to achieve excellence in care delivery.
To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong clinical skillset, with recent management experience. You will also bring the following:
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife
- Minimum of five (5) years’ post-graduate midwifery experience
- Proven experience as a senior nurse or manager (highly desirable)
- Flexibility in rostering to support junior staff/unit
- Current Birth Suite experience highly desirable
- Education experience highly desirable
- Ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human and capital resources
