Job Description
You will join our Solutions for Industry department
As our new Controls & Automation Project Engineer you will be part of our Process Control & Data Solutions
(PCDS) team that supports all aspects of control system lifecycles across the diverse industries and systems of our varied clients.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
• Control Systems design: Lead hands-on, detailed design efforts on assigned projects from initial information
gathering through final implementation. Collaborate with other disciplines and participate in design reviews.
Verify system performance requirements are met.
• PLC and HMI programming: Write original, well-structured code and make changes to existing code. Use
sound design practices to generate full system visualization, reporting, and alarming.
• Architecture configuration: Configure industrial Ethernet networks. Configure physical and virtual computer
hardware/software. Create interconnections to client networks.
• Commissioning and site work: Lead the start-up, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing of equipment both
locally and at customer sites. Field-tune systems and control algorithms. Troubleshoot non-functioning control
systems.
• Documentation: Contribute to and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Generate process
control narratives and contribute to equipment Operation & Maintenance manuals.
• Project management: Working with Project Managers to regularly update the Controls/SCADA portion of
project plans. Work proactively with Project Managers to address issues related to project schedule, budget,
or scope and develop appropriate solutions.
• Organizational improvement: Act as a leader to support, promote, and improve department standards for
design and programming. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Mentor and train junior
engineers
Qualifications

- B.S. or greater in relevant engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in control system integration and SCADA programming. Years of experience may offset educational requirements.
- Knowledge and programming experience on the Rockwell Automation Logix 5000 platform; experience with multiple PLC platforms (Rockwell Automation Logix 500, GE, Siemens, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience programming HMI/SCADA; Inductive Automation’s Ignition is a must, experience with multiple platforms (Rockwell Automation, Wonderware, GE, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience configuring industrial networking systems and related hardware (primarily Ethernet-based).
- Experience configuring computers, workstations, or servers in control systems.
- Demonstrated experience in either Process Control or Machine Control; both areas is a plus.
- Knowledge of control system design, including electrical principles and hardware design.
- Additionally, experience with any of the following skills is a plus: virtual machines, MES, Linux, Hyper-V, ESXi, SQL, Python, C#, Java, cybersecurity or AutoCAD Electrical.

Salary Transparency Statement
At Ramboll, we are committed to fair and transparent compensation practices that support our people and our purpose of creating sustainable societies. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $82,000 to $102,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation we reasonably expect to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Because we operate across multiple U.S. markets, pay may differ depending on the cost of labor in specific locations. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for bonus, overtime or other forms of compensation and we offer a comprehensive benefits package that supports well-being, professional development, and work-life balance.
