As our new Mechanical Process Lead, you will be working closely with Project Managers and other Consultants doing Engineering Design. Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 15+ years of qualifying engineering experience in the Wastewater Treatment engineering design or allied field developing detailed process mechanical designs; OR

· An Associate’s Degree or technical school certification in civil or mechanical technology, technical drafting, or other relevant technical curriculum and 20+ years of qualifying engineering experience working in the Wastewater Treatment engineering or allied design field developing detailed process mechanical designs.

· Equivalent education and experience in allied fields will be considered.

· Currently active Professional Engineer (PE) License.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Lead process mechanical design for large groundwater and wastewater treatment projects.
  • Develop functional, constructable process mechanical designs, including P&IDs, process flow diagrams, equipment/piping layouts, and piping isometrics.
  • Develop 3D models, plans, specifications, equipment data sheets, and technical documentation; AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit MEP, and hydraulic/pipe stress software experience preferred.
  • Prepare Basis of Design reports, process control narratives, technical specifications, and other technical documents.
  • Serve as a mechanical/process or technical lead on large, multidisciplinary projects; experience with commissioning and long-term plant operations is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Plan and design complex process mechanical components for wastewater treatment projects, including sanitary, industrial, and environmental systems.
  • Analyze and interpret technical data, drawings, reports, hydraulic calculations, and cost estimates to support project design.
  • Develop project documents and coordinate with vendors to select, specify, and procure equipment, valves, instruments, and other components.
  • Communicate with clients, discipline leads, vendors, contractors, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies throughout design and construction.
  • Support proposals and project estimates, delegate work, perform quality and safety reviews, and serve as a technical resource/subject matter expert to the team.

Salary Transparency Statement

At Ramboll, we are committed to fair and transparent compensation practices that support our people and our purpose of creating sustainable societies. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $110,000 to $130,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation we reasonably expect to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Because we operate across multiple U.S. markets, pay may differ depending on the cost of labor in specific locations. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for bonus, overtime or other forms of compensation and we offer a comprehensive benefits package that supports well-being, professional development, and work-life balance.
