Your new role
As our new Team Lead – Offshore Geotechnics, you will further develop our growing Offshore Wind Engineering business internationally and together with our wide range of clients pave the way for a zero-carbon future. You will be part of our global Wind division, working closely with the Wind Engineering and Transport departments in other countries. To succeed in this role, you must have great leadership skills as well as a desire to further develop the business in a very exciting market.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Lead the DE-Hamburg Offshore Geotechnical team to develop the skills and staff needed to deliver our global Offshore Wind projects around foundation design and engineering
- People Management – resource allocation, recruitment and development
- Collaborate closely cross-office and with the Head of Geotechnics, and with the other discipline team leads in Germany and globally, and contribute to strategy processes
- Guide the team in delivery of large-scale design projects
- Technical and Project Excellence – ensure technical consistency across the team in alignment with the global Geo discipline
- Management of the team’s workload in coordination with the global service line with a focus on identifying opportunities to maximise efficiency and delivery
- As part of DE-Hamburg leadership team, shared responsibility for driving the success of the German and global Wind division
- Develop your team via the annual PDP process
- Your direct reporting line will be to the Head of Geotechnics
About you

- Master’s degree, preferably with focus on geotechnical design, ground engineering or similar areas of study
- A successful project track record with focus on discipline leadership
- Experience and high motivation in team leadership
- Deep insight into international, large-scale Offshore Wind projects around WTG foundation design
- Deep professional expertise within geotechnical design and offshore engineering, including the detailed design phase of projects
- Ability to work collaboratively with clients, colleagues, strategic partners and sub-consultants to provide high quality consultancy advice
- A genuine interest in sustainability, innovation and digitalization
- A growth mindset with ambitions to further develop the team and the global Wind division
Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include: you have established leadership skills and are able to motivate teams spread on different locations; you show a Team-oriented approach, strong problem-solving capabilities, and mentoring skills; you are good at delegating, yet knowing that the devil is in the detail; you are a confident communicator with superior stakeholder management skills; you can ascertain regular office presence for effective team management; highest level of proficiency in written and spoken English.
