Role Overview

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will act as a technical lead and subject matter expert for mission-critical Data Center projects, responsible for end-to-end electrical system design, engineering, coordination, and commissioning support.

This role requires full ownership from concept development and system topology definition to detailed design, construction support, commissioning, and performance validation, ensuring delivery of highly resilient, scalable, and efficient power infrastructure.

You will engage directly with client-side SMEs, utilities, global stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams, leading technical discussions and resolving complex engineering challenges.

In case you have no prior Data Center experience, you have good to great electrical system design experience from LoD200 to LoD400 in areas mentioned in the description, you can apply too.

Qualifications

Mandatory Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

  • Strong experience in Data Center electrical systems, including:
    • HT / MV / LV systems , LV distribution N+2C, Distributed, N+N
    • UPS, batteries (VRLA / Li-ion), generators
    • Earthing & lightning protection
    • HV/MV/LV Cables & bus ducts
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Uptime Tier III / IV requirements
    • Mission-critical redundancy
  • Experience in:
    • Hyperscale / colocation data centers

Tools & Digital Capability

  • AutoCAD (mandatory)
  • Revit / BIM coordination
  • ETAP (or equivalent analysis tools)

Communication (NON-NEGOTIABLE)

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to:
    • Lead discussions with client SMEs
    • Resolve complex issues through structured communication
    • Produce high-quality technical documentation

Qualifications & Experience

  • BE / BTech in Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years total experience
  • 5 years in Data Center / mission-critical projects

Good to Have

  • Uptime ATD / CDCS/CDCE
  • Experience with liquid-cooled / AI data centers
  • Exposure to commissioning and audits
  • International project experience
