Junior Structural Engineer for International Project Consultancy
- Full-time
Job Description
Junior Structural Engineer for International Project Consultancy
Copenhagen, Denmark
Are you a recent master’s graduate — or an early-career engineer with 2–3 years of experience — looking to build your career within structural engineering in a strong professional environment with international scope?
Right now, we are looking for a Junior Structural Engineer (or Graduate Engineer, depending on your profile) to join our International Project Consultancy department at Ramboll's head office in Ørestad.
Your new role
You will become part of a multidisciplinary team of structural engineers, building designers, and project managers based at Ramboll's headquarters in Ørestad. Our department, International Project Consultancy, works on some of Ramboll's most exciting domestic and international projects, delivering structural engineering consultancy across a wide range of industrial building typologies.
We are often involved in projects with particularly complex structures, where standard solutions are not enough. This means you will enjoy a varied working life with plenty of opportunities to challenge yourself professionally across different types of construction — and gain international experience early in your career.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Supporting the design of load-bearing structures in concrete, steel, and timber
- Contributing to calculations, drawings, and technical documentation across project phases
- Collaborating closely with senior engineers, project managers, and other disciplines
- Learning the ins and outs of structural design through hands-on work on real projects
- Gradually taking on more responsibility as your competencies grow
About you
We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, has a strong grasp of structural engineering fundamentals, and — most importantly — brings a positive personality and the right attitude to be a great fit in our team. For us, personality and team fit weigh just as much as (if not more than) sharp technical skills — the rest we can teach you.
We imagine that you:
- Hold an MSc/MEng in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering — either as a recent graduate or with a maximum of 2–3 years of experience
- Have a solid understanding of structural engineering basics (concrete, steel, and/or timber)
- Take pride in doing careful, high-quality work — even in the details
- Are curious, humble, and motivated to develop yourself both technically and personally
- Enjoy teamwork and communicate effectively with colleagues across disciplines
- Are fluent in English (additional languages are a plus); Fluency in Danish is considered a significant advantage
Two career tracks — clear expectations from day one
Depending on your profile, you will join us on one of the following tracks:
- Fresh graduates will join as Graduate Engineers and enter our structured 3-year Graduate Program, designed to give you a strong foundation across technical, project, and personal development areas.
- Candidates with 2–3 years of experience will be hired as Junior Structural Engineers. Depending on your performance and development, there will be an opportunity to be promoted within 1–2 years.
We will discuss expectations openly during the interview, so we are aligned from the start.
Interview process:
Successful candidates will be considered for a face-to-face interview in Rambøll’s Headquarters in Ørestad.
The interview process will consist of two phases:
- Fit interview with Head of Department
- Technical interview with the Structural Engineering Discipline Lead
Your foundation for continuous professional development
From your first day at Ramboll, we support your personal and professional development. You will work closely with the Head of Department and Discipline Lead, who will act as your mentor — providing hands-on guidance, technical sparring, and support in shaping your career path.
Several of your new colleagues are, for example, working towards becoming certified structural engineers ("statikere"), attending courses at DKBI, and developing their project management skills through our own Ramboll Academy. You will have access to the same opportunities as your career progresses.
A working life with high flexibility
We know that our colleagues perform at their best when there is a healthy balance between work and personal life. You will therefore enjoy great freedom in organizing your tasks and your workday, so that family, leisure, and work can align.
Do you have questions?
You are welcome to contact Alexander Krasnik ([email protected]), Head of the International Project Consultancy department if you have any questions about the position.
