Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tekla Precast Concrete and Steel Modeller to create accurate 3D models and detailed fabrication drawings for precast concrete and structural steel projects using Tekla Structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction drawings, BIM workflows, and industry standards, and will work closely with engineers, architects, project managers, and production teams to ensure high-quality project delivery. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop detailed 3D models of precast concrete and structural steel components using Tekla Structures. 

  • Prepare GA (General Arrangement) drawings, shop drawings, assembly drawings, and erection drawings. 

  • Produce accurate reinforcement detailing for precast concrete elements. 

  • Generate fabrication drawings, material take-offs, and Bills of Materials (BOM). 

  • Coordinate with structural engineers, architects, and other disciplines to resolve clashes and design issues. 

  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements before modelling. 

  • Maintain modelling standards and ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable codes. 

  • Participate in BIM coordination meetings and perform clash detection when required. 

  • Revise models and drawings based on design changes and client comments. 

  • Ensure timely completion of modelling and detailing deliverables while maintaining quality standards. 

  • Support production, fabrication, and site teams by addressing technical queries. 

You will join our Global Engineering Centre department 

As our new Principal Designer- BIM, Structures you will be part of Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC) that was established as a dedicated institution for creating the excellence center in Ramboll. REC focusses on providing global expertise using local resources from India. Facilitates cooperation between India, business units in Europe and the Middle East specifically for the Buildings, Transport and Water sectors. 

This big team is divided into groups of dedicated personnel working for structures in UK, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway who sometimes also work across these boundaries. They are virtual teammates working on common projects, prime business units in the above countries being the ones who coordinate with the clients and other consultants as well as with REC to pass on the design solutions to the user. The wide range of projects vary from high rise structures, to precast, to post tensioning etc., for some regions to industrial structures depending on the country you are working for. The most attractive thing is despite the challenges of working across continents, because of the culture of planning ahead and ability to understand each other’s needs, everyone works in a peaceful and lively manner, enjoyment and empowerment being some of the Ramboll values.  

Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. 

  • 4–8 years of experience in Tekla Structures modelling and detailing (experience requirement may vary). 

  • Proficiency in Tekla Structures for precast concrete and structural steel modelling. 

  • Strong knowledge of structural drawings and construction practices. 

  • Understanding of reinforcement detailing and steel connection detailing. 

  • Familiarity with international standards such as ACI, Eurocode, BS, or AISC is an advantage. 

  • Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. 

  • Ability to collaborate and work in large and diverse project teams. 

  • Excellent English communication skills- written & spoken. 

Preferred Skills 

  • Experience with BIM workflows and coordination. 

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk Navisworks. 

  • Experience with IFC model coordination and model exchange. 

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects. 

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
