Job Description
You will join our Bridges & Civils department
As our new Lead Engineer, Drainage & Plumbing /Fire Protection within Bridges & Civils department, you will be part of a world class, innovation driven engineering design centre owned by an independent trust fund and its employees. The Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC) is a highly sophisticated center of engineering excellence and based in our India head office in Gurgaon. Working in partnership with all our established offices globally, REC is a centre for excellence in design by offering support within the Ramboll organization to solve the client challenges of today and tomorrow.
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Drainage & Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer with extensive experience in designing and coordinating skills for our major infrastructure projects.
Experience:-
- Minimum 10 years of experience in design, hydraulic calculations, and simulation for fire protection systems such as water mist, deluge, sprinkler systems for road/rail tunnels and metro projects.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in design, hydraulic calculations, and simulation of drainage, PHE, sanitation, and water supply systems, and rainwater harvesting for road/rail tunnels and metro projects.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in design of plumbing, internal and external hydrants, and portable extinguishers for road/rail tunnels and metro projects.
- Strong knowledge of international and national design codes and standards such as NFPA, EN, BS, IPC, UPC, OBC, and other applicable codes for road/rail tunnels and metros.
- Experience managing full project cycles, with strong knowledge of different design stages including concept, preliminary, tender, and detailed design, along with preparation of related technical documentation such as design reports and related 2D and 3D drawings.
- Experienced in performing technical reviews of design documents, equipment specifications, and compliance checks with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Skilled in 2D/3D design and coordination using AutoCAD and Revit MEP, with strong BIM-oriented modelling capabilities.
- Strong proficiency in CANUTE LLP, SprinkCALC, Pipenet, Openflows Water, WANDA, WaterHAMMER and any other related software
- Experienced in interdisciplinary coordination with mechanical, electrical, architectural, and civil teams to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management experience with clients, contractors, and authorities
- Ability to provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and BIM specialists.
- Proven experience in leading small engineering/project teams
- Experience supervising BIM model development, clash detection, and design validation across project phases.
- Participation in value engineering, risk assessments, and constructability evaluations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s /Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in drainage, plumbing and fire protection system design and calculations
- Proven track record on large-scale international infrastructure projects such as road/rail tunnel and metros
- Strong proficiency in CANUTE LLP, SprinkCALC, Pipenet, Openflows Water, WANDA, WaterHAMMER
- Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for 2D and 3D modelling and coordination.
- Excellent technical reporting, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Excellent proficiency in collaboration tools such as ProjectWise, SharePoint,BIM360
- Strong proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
