We invite you to demonstrate best practice in building physics and performance modelling as we look for enthusiastic and suitably experienced Senior/Principal Level Building Physicists for the Ramboll Engineering Centre located in Gurgaon. The Ramboll Engineering Centre is an essential contributor to the success of the Ramboll Middle East Team, who jointly collaborate to deliver exciting and challenging projects across many different sectors.

You will join our Building Sustainability Team

Our Sustainability teams have an in-depth focus on technical delivery and an excellent understanding of client care, focused on Low and Net Zero Carbon building design. You will be an essential part of a close-knit team working on a wide variety of projects across the Middle east, UK and internationally. At Ramboll we passionately believe that building physics and building performance modelling is an integrated part of the building services design process, and we encourage all our engineers to have the capability to run and manage their own building performance models.

You will be expected to manage your own project work as well as that of more junior engineers within the Ramboll Engineering Centre. You will be highly technically proficient in IES VE and capable of supporting and educating junior engineers within the Ramboll Engineering Centre.

Your key attributes and responsibilities will be:

  • Be Educated to Masters/ bachelor’s level in Engineering, Architecture or Built Environment and having gained relevant practical experience in a similar role, you have demonstrable knowledge and experience of building physics, particularly in relation to heat transfer, energy, comfort criteria, ASHRAE Guidance and other industry standards.
  • Highly technically proficient in IES VE with the ability to perform modelling tasks to a high quality and with minimal supervision
  • Have in depth-knowledge of dynamic simulation software’s including an understanding of climate-based daylighting analysis, operational energy calculation and life cycle analysis and life cycle costing is highly desirable.
  • Check and quality assure the work of others in all technical aspects of building performance modelling in IES VE
  • Mentor and assist with the development of engineers within the Ramboll Engineering Centre in building performance modelling and building physics
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day running of projects, workload planning and delivery, and providing technical input as required
  • Produce energy strategies for planning applications, carrying out both Domestic and Non-Domestic compliance assessments for Middle east, UK using IES VE
  • Complete thermal comfort assessments following e.g. CIBSE TM52, CIBSE TM59, BB101 and UK Buildings Regulations Part O
  • Produce Passive Design and Low and Zero Carbon Reports and Knowledge on ESTIDAMA/ MOSTERDAM/ LEED Certifications.

  • Should be able to communicate clearly and able to work in a team and support, mentor and develop junior engineers

  • Being a qualified Engineer having a proven and demonstrable track record in their discipline
  • Proven experience in all aspects of building physics, including building energy modelling and compliance analysis using IES or SAP
  • Have a good knowledge of passive design, LZC technologies and ‘net zero’, and use this to influence all aspects of building design
  • Demonstrate good attention to detail and show pride in the work produced
  • Have an ability to manage and educate more junior engineers on modelling best practices in IES VE as well as industry best practices around UK Building Regulations and BREEAM Requirements

Qualifications

A Master’s/Bachelor’s degree qualification in an Mechanical Engineering/Sustainable Architecture/ Building Performance or allied subjects

Mandatory Skills required : IES VE software experience, ESTIDAMA PQP Certified, LEED Certified

thermal assessment for Middle east projects, Middle east codes knowledge preferred

Experience : 7-10 years
