Your new role
Ramboll is seeking a highly motivated Consultant, Geologist with a desire to expand their multi-disciplinary environmental consulting career by joining the firm’s collaborative, diverse, and creative team in Arlington, Virginia. We invite you to bring your enthusiasm and innovation to address our clients’ challenging and critical problems.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Perform site investigations and assist with the delivery of projects that may include environmental due diligence, environmental permitting and compliance, and/or site remediation;
- Manage and oversee subcontractors;
- Evaluate analytical and field data;
- Utilize GIS, statistical analysis, Power BI, modeling programs, and related digitalization technologies to deliver meaningful and concise data deliverables; and
- Prepare written proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports.
About you
- Bachelor of Science (BS) and 2+ years experience or Master of Science and 1+ year experience in a relevant science discipline (geology, environmental science or related) and 40-hr HAZWOPER training with documented record of refresher training
- Effective written/verbal communication, organization/analytical skills, database comprehension, and GIS skills
- Detail-oriented with mechanical aptitude for trouble-shooting/problem-solving on the fly
- Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel up to 30% with valid driver’s license, and work independently with minimal supervision on project based tasks
- The physical requirements of this position may include the need for climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing/sitting/walking, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 40 lbs. In certain situations, this position may expose the candidate to extremes in weather (hot/cold); to hazards such as a proximity to moving machine parts and moving vehicles, high noise levels, electrical current, and chemicals or contaminated media.
