You will join our Ramboll ICB department
As our new Inspector (m/f/d) you will be part of our new Ramboll Inspection and Certification Body, which works on projects which are at the forefront of the transport industry and the future of railways. The team is based in Braunschweig, has a fun, friendly, family environment, and consists of multinational staff who work on projects across the world.
Your new, varied technical core tasks are:
- Checking of the development against the valid standards
- Creation and documentation of the concept for inspection / assessment throughout the development process (inspection plan)
- Carrying out the inspection / assessment steps for products and systems for control, command, and signalling (hardware and/or software)
- Coordination with various interfaces
- Preparation of the respective result documentation (e.g. List of open points, inspection report)
Your additional general tasks are:
- Technical and commercial project management
- Acquiring follow-up orders
- Training of new employees

- Completed technical studies (e.g. specialising in automotive engineering, electrical engineering, traffic engineering, information technology or communication technology)
- Relevant professional experience in the field of functional / technical safety for rail transport products and applications
- Sound knowledge of current standards (e.g. CENELEC EN 50126, 50128 and 50129)
- Understanding of the interaction with other disciplines (e.g. RAMS and validation)
- Careful and accurate way of working
- Good communication skills
- Very good knowledge of German and English
- Proficient in MS Office
- Willingness to travel at short notice
- Team player

- Assessment of on-board and track-side control-command and signalling and their maintenance as part of the evaluation for EC verification according to Directive (EU) 2016/797
- Assessment of safety cases and safety management processes for on-board and track-side control-command and signalling as part of the independent assessment of the application of safety management systems
- and determination of conformity with specific requirements or, based on professional judgement, with general requirements
The Inspection Body is recognised as a CSM Assessment Body (AsBo) (DE/36/0023/0041) by the German Federal Railway Authority (Eisenbahn-Bundesamt) in accordance with European law and approved as a Designated Body (BBS) in Switzerland (BAV-432.32-00001/00063) for the control-command and signalling on-board subsystem.
