Job Description

The Executive Intern will work with the CEO to support the delivery of key strategic priorities across the organization, which will enhance Rally’s capacity to deliver high-quality, relevant services. This will in turn result in more capital invested in supporting those affected by social and environmental issues, thus amplifying Rally’s social impact.  The successful candidate for this role will have a deep personal commitment and passion for investing that achieves positive societal impact while achieving client financial objectives.

As a part of this internship, the successful applicant will also participate in workshops, networking sessions and Lunch & Learns with Good & Well - a Toronto-based impact investment firm - alongside interns from several other social purpose businesses.

This position is partially funded by the United Nations Association of Canada through the Green Spaces Program <http://unac.org/green-spaces/>, which is supported by the Government of Canada as a part of the Youth Employment Strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research – on-going efforts to identify market gaps on both the supply side and demand side, global best practices, competitors, technology innovation and disruption;
  • Educational Content  - research and collate a library of resources and support creation of targeted content related to ESG, responsible investing, impact investing, and impact measurement;
  • Business and Corporate Development – support the Leadership team in lead generation and conversion efficiency;
  • Support enhanced efficiency of operational delivery of client services;
  • Other  - support the CEO as needed on other items including governance, financial analysis, and reporting.

Other details

  • $15/hour for 37.5 hours/week.
  • Business hours are Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.
  • You will be working at our head office at 141 Adelaide Street West, Suite 230, Toronto, ON M5H3L5
  • The internship will run from May 6, 2019 to August 23, 2019

Qualifications

Must-Haves

  • An authentic commitment to working in a social purpose organization;
  • Deeply interested and passionate about impact investing, social entrepreneurship, social innovation or social finance;
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint  and MS Outlook, in particular) or Google equivalent;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Some previous work experience;
  • A high degree of initiative and resourcefulness;
  • A strong work ethic, commitment to high-quality work, professionalism, and attention to detail;
  • The ability to work in a small, dynamic and supportive team, exercise good judgment with limited supervision, and manage time effectively;
  • Technically capable, an excellent communicator, an analytical mind and an innate desire to improve;
  • Curiosity and a demonstrated desire for learning; and
  • As per the UNAC Green Spaces wage subsidy program requirements (http://unac.org/green-spaces/), you must also be:
    • Currently enrolled full-time in post-secondary school and intending to return in the fall;
    • Between the ages of 15 and 30 (inclusive) at the time of intake/selection;
    • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada; and
    • Legally entitled to work according to Ontario’s legislation and regulations.

Good-to-Haves
