Job Description

In this role, you will lead a high-performing team across inbound and outbound sales, account management, and customer service functions. Your primary objective will be to drive new business acquisition while ensuring the retention and growth of existing accounts. You will be responsible for setting sales targets, optimizing processes, and implementing strategies to maximize revenue and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 11 full-time employees (FTEs) across inbound and outbound sales, account management, and customer service.
  • Set clear performance expectations, KPIs, and sales targets, ensuring team members are motivated and equipped to succeed.
  • Foster a high-performance sales culture through continuous training, feedback, and development initiatives.

Sales Growth & Revenue Generation

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to drive revenue growth within the assigned territories.
  • Identify new business opportunities and implement targeted campaigns to increase market share.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to refine sales messaging and promotional efforts.

Customer Acquisition & Expansion

  • Oversee lead generation, prospecting, and pipeline management to ensure a steady flow of new customers.
  • Work with the team to develop tailored sales approaches, focusing on high-conversion tactics to maximize new customer acquisition.
  • Analyze market trends, customer data, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for business expansion.

Account Management & Customer Retention

  • Ensure a seamless customer experience by aligning sales, account management, and customer service efforts.
  • Support the team in managing existing accounts, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities, and increasing customer lifetime value.
  • Implement customer engagement strategies to enhance retention, satisfaction, and long-term loyalty.

Operational Excellence & Reporting

  • Monitor sales performance and generate regular reports to track progress against business objectives.
  • Utilize CRM tools and data analytics to drive decision-making and optimize sales processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and best practices in sales and customer service.

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent experience in a business related discipline.
  • Significant experience of coaching, motivating & managing commercial  account managers.
  • Demonstrate leadership by example.
  • Experience of leading inside sales teams
  • Evidence of successfully motivating team to deliver business objectives effectively.
  • Career achiever at the highest levels.
  • Impressive professional credentials and career history.
  • At ease with numbers and P&L
  • Instantly credible with the presence and experience to drive sales growth.
  • Analytical skills (draw conclusions and actions from analyses of numbers)
  • Proven track record in a similar role.
  • Operates to the highest professional standards.

Preference

  • Sector experience (Fuel, EV, Telematics, Banking and/or Insurance in small entities)
