Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Credit & Collections Manager to join our team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As the Credit & Collections Manager for South East Asia, you will play a crucial role in managing our organization's credit risk and optimizing cash flow across the region.

  • Develop and implement effective credit and collections strategies for the South East Asian market
  • Analyze and assess credit risks for new and existing customers
  • Manage a team of credit and collections professionals across the region
  • Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for the credit and collections department
  • Negotiate payment terms and resolve complex customer disputes
  • Collaborate with sales and finance teams to balance business growth and risk management
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with local financial regulations and international credit laws
  • Prepare and present regular reports on credit performance and collections metrics to senior management
  • Continuously improve credit and collections processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Conduct periodic reviews of credit policies and recommend updates as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in credit and collections management, preferably in South East Asian markets
  • Proven track record of successfully managing credit risk and improving collections performance
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial software and Sage system
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing teams
  • In-depth knowledge of South East Asian financial regulations and practices
  • Understanding of international credit and collections laws
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Credit Professional (CCP) preferred
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in one or more South East Asian languages is a plus
