Job Description
About the role
We are seeking a Casual Judge who is flexible and available to travel to race meetings and barrier trials across WA. This role is responsible for determining official race results with absolute accuracy and integrity.
Key accountabilities of this role include;
- In accordance with the Australian Rules of Racing, determine and immediately signal the placing of horses in each race
- Analyse digital photo finish images to accurately determine race outcomes
- Record the finishing order, margins and times for all horses competing in each race
- Interpret and confirm results in close finishes with complete accuracy
- Enter official race results into the Racing Australia’s SNS racing system within required timeframes
- Justify race outcomes to Stewards, Trainers and Owners where required
- Ensure the operation of photo finish equipment to guarantee accurate results
- Supervise Assistant Judge and Camera Operators
Qualifications
About you
We are looking for somebody with the following skillset:
- Extensive experience in a similar type of role involving judging
- Extensive knowledge of Rules of Racing
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of the racing and wagering industry
- Basic computer literacy skills – Microsoft Office / Windows environment
- Completion of Year 10
