The Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Financial Accountant to join our team. This role calls for someone with strong assets experience, a positive disposition and exceptional business acumen. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that the financial accounting, control, statutory and regulatory reporting is completed accurately and on time.

A day on the job will see you:

• Lead month end processes to ensure internal and external reporting deadlines are met
• Preparation of month end postings and accruals
• Ensure timely, meaningful, and accurate preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
• Responsible for the maintenance and optimisation of the Fixed Asset Register and related processes
•  Maintain the accuracy of leasing data contained within Nomos One leasing software
•  Prepare and lodge monthly BAS and Payroll Tax statements and annual FBT returns
• Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and notes to the financial statements
• Coordinate with external auditors to manage interim and year-end audit deliverables
• Ensure the reporting and general ledger integrity of the Technology One finance system

About You

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline
• Well-developed, broad experience with business and accounting systems in a large ERP environment.
• Experience with Technology One finance systems would be highly regarded
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge/experience in Government Accounting and Treasury Instructions
• Ability to identify improvement opportunities and support change initiatives
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise and control workload
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to establish business relationships with internal and external customers.
• Demonstrated problem solving and time management skills.
