Job Description

The Role 

We’re looking for a talented Software Engineering Team Lead to mentor and coach our Centre of Excellence Platform team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a large and dynamic team, where the challenge is to continually plan and execute the development of RWWAs cloud governance frameworks across Platform Operations, Software Engineering, Security and other internal business functions

  • Overall responsibility for the implementation of the RWWAs cloud governance through policy, metrics, controls, and compliance
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the key performance indicators (KPIs) that accurately measure and report compliance to RWWAs governance control
  • Identify and maintain cloud compliance policies, working with the Cloud Platform team to ensure ongoing adherence to best practices
  • Champion cloud governance excellence across RWWA, building broader capability and cost ownership through building and emphasising specific knowledge programs, resources, and processes to become a cost-efficient and cost-conscious organisation
  • Establish and maintain RWWA wide budget classification and planning processes for its cloud platform
  • Ensure ongoing cloud cost are monitored and assessed against budgets, monitoring for trend analysis and anomaly detection, providing visibility of costs across the business as required.
  • Proactively develop programs to measure RWWA workload’s patterns of usage and the predictability of their demands to generate continual improvements in workload costs and efficiency over time.
  • Generate recommendations for and implement optimisations in RWWA’s Platform across the core pillars of costs, performance, and resilience.       

Qualifications

About You 

  • At least 6 years demonstrated experience in similar roles across large, governance lead organisations
  •  Strong experience in Cloud technologies and concepts specifically Serverless, SaaS, PaaS and IaaS in AWS, Azure or other public cloud
  • Strong experience in establishing governance strategies and compliance frameworks for public cloud environments.
  •  Demonstrated experience in designing systems for highly available, scalable and high-performance cloud offerings.
  • Possess an analytical, structured and innovative approach to problem solving, including the ability to think pragmatically using common sense.
  • Ability to define, document, educate and communicate processes and concepts across multiple stakeholders and teams
  •  Understanding of software application analysis, design, development and deployment using any of following languages: C#, ASP.Net, Perl, Python, JavaScript and/or YAML
  • Experience using software delivery and orchestration tools (such as Ansible Tower).
  • Broad understanding of tools and technologies such as source control, continuous integration, infrastructure automation, deployment automation and orchestration, container concepts, orchestration and cloud
  • Agile knowledge and/or experience
