Job Description

Do you like to work with and analyze large amounts of data? As a Data Analyst, you get to be part of a team that is developing a new and in-depth data set by analyzing large and complex documents; you will report directly to the VP Data Steward.  Join us on our Data Analyst Team at our Head office location in Calgary, Alberta Canada.

As part of the Data Analyst team, you will:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the well completion and fracture dataset
  • Have the opportunity to support analysts with technical data gathering and analysis
  • Research and compile drilling and completion report data for various companies and geographic regions using publicly available data
  • Develop a strong understanding of the many variances of completion reports
  • Complete stringent QA / QC checks daily on acquired data
  • Perform in a fast-paced team environment to produce high volume / high quality data

Qualifications

What you need to succeed (must haves):

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Have a solid working knowledge of well drilling and completion operations including fracture stimulations
  • Related technical certificate/diploma or equivalent working experience
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Ability to work independently

Skills that are not required, but will set you apart:

  • Direct Oilfield experience would be considered a strong asset
  • VBA knowledge
  • PowerBI knowledge
