Job Description

Hours of this position are M-F from 6:00am-2:30pm with occasional Saturdays.

He/She is responsible for day-to-day operations of a team of warehouse personnel. The Warehouse Supervisor monitors productivity and performance standards, and plans and directs workflow and project assignments. Oversees production volume to ensure service standards are met.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee accurate receipt, handling, transfer, put-away, and picking of goods for transfer within the facility or as shipments to customers. 
  • Ensure accurate receipt of goods and inspect for damage and accurate counts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely shipment of outbounds.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records.
  • Prepare shift schedules to ensure adequate personnel coverage per shift. Manage labor cost.  
  • Ownership for inventory control.  Conduct cycle counts and identify root-causes of inventory shrinkage, mixed goods, or damage. 
  • Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training new team members.  
  • Train warehouse team members to meet key performance standards. 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse (i.e. aisles and storage racks).
  • Promote a positive work environment. Resolve conflicts within the team. 
  • Ensure employees adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Schedule routine maintenance and inspections for warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, stretch wrappers, and loading dock plates.
  • Audits the receiving process, the shipping process, and the RMA process.
  • Directs activities of workers engaged in shipping material, receiving material, storing material, pulling material for manufacturing, and restocking finished products into the warehouse.
  • Provides prompt and accurate service to the manufacturing floor, ensuring that downtime is minimized.
  • Maintains prompt and accurate communication with Account Management for material status changes and with other customer-specific requests.
  • Provides accurate reports for all processes.
  • Assumes responsibility for user transactions on the system.
  • Tracks user errors. Uses system knowledge to supervise transaction error correction.
  • Analyzes advanced errors in the system, and resolves issues.
  • Supervises personnel in three areas of material flow simultaneously.
  • Understands OSHA regulations and ISO9001 standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the manager.

 

Qualifications

  • 2 Year / Associate Degree preferred.
  • 2+ years’ supervisory experience preferably in a distribution center environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Supply Chain, Distribution or Packaging industry experience is a plus.
  • Forklift operation certificate required.
  • Knowledge of Data Analytics, ERP Systems, and WMS strongly preferred.
  • Ability to enforce strict adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ability to identify operational inefficiencies and implement strategies to boost productivity and reduce costs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Intermediate skills in working on computers – Google Suite, Microsoft office package and time keeping software solutions are strongly preferred. 
  • Ability to work flexible schedule to include nights and weekends if business require it.

 

Additional Information

RRD's current salary range for this role is $64,00 to $98,400 / year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
