Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for installing and maintaining machinery and equipment in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner, performing facilities management including facility maintenance (office, production and grounds) and selection and coordination of vendors, skill training, leading the maintenance team and ensuring compliance with company and government regulations.

 

  • Supervises day-to-day maintenance of production machinery, auxiliary manufacturing equipment as well as the building and grounds. 

  • Directly supervises maintenance technicians of varying levels and skill sets, including training and development, performance management, making recommendations for hiring, etc. 

  • Manages vendors/contractors working on the facility and manufacturing equipment. 

  • Assists technicians with more advanced troubleshooting and repairs, particularly with electrical, computer, and network issues.  

  • Maintains and improves upon existing maintenance program utilizing HxGN EAM and various office software programs. Analyzes trends of equipment and equipment component failures to optimize the maintenance schedule and maximize the use of downtime. 

  • Works directly with the leadership team to maintain safety, security, and all aspects of compliance within the facility. 

  • Informs the Manufacturing Manager of any unresolved issues. 

  • Performs other duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

  • Coach employees to peak performance by developing the skill level of your staff and their ability to produce quality work and increase productivity.

  • Work in conjunction with Human Resources and operations management to maintain a positive employee relations environment, administering and enforcing company policies and practices fairly and consistently.

  • Work closely with the location's Leadership team to understand and assist with implementing action plans to achieve department objectives.

  • Reinforce and promote safety training and safe work practices; participate in safety meetings.

  • Analyze and resolve work related problems and assist employees with troubleshooting and solving manufacturing/quality problems.

  • Understand the impact of operational decisions on the budget; controlling variable expenses.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred. 
  • Minimum (2) years supervising experience and performing the electro-mechanical maintenance of high-speed automated industrial machinery.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.  
  • Strong technical knowledge of building maintenance and repairs. 
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills required.
  • Advanced knowledge of, and experience with, the troubleshooting and repair of the following systems: electrical (24V DC to 480V AC), electronic (including PLC inputs & outputs), and computer (software, hardware, & networking)
  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster a collaborative environment and a culture focused on safety, inclusion and continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional computer skills using Microsoft Office products (especially Excel) and ability to learn new and existing technology.

Additional Information

The national pay range for this role is $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 annually. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
