Job Description

The Automation Technician must lead in the research, definition, and control of both mechanical and electronic motion for a variety of industrial paper control systems: along with being the go to contact for production issues. Develop and review requirements and design specifications, lead design and code reviews, propose and evaluate designs, assign tasks to electronic techs, and model and test complex control algorithms. Mentor electronic technicians and collaborate with others to successfully complete development projects.

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Must possess excellent communication skills, and maintain the ability to thrive as a team member and work independently.
  • Capable of troubleshooting and repairing, PLC controlled, Servo driven and various other electrical control systems throughout the plant.
  • Experience working with 120v single phase up to 480v 3ph.
  • Experience with repairing and troubleshooting various controls in the industrial environment.
  • Able to write documents and create diagrams describing complex systems effectively and clearly.
  • Investigate software tools and obtain licenses for use.
  • Define and follow accepted best practices for source code archival.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Electronics degree, Electro Mechanical degree, Instrumentation Degree or the equivalent in education and work experience.
  • Industrial experience
  • AC/DC and Servo drive experience 
  • Ability to operate or use programmable logic controllers, electronic testing equipment including chart recorder, oscilloscope, megger, digital multimeter.
  • Ability to use various computer systems (DOS, Windows, Linux) and various software like Autocad Electrical, Python, Script, C# or other languages.
  • Project Management experience

**CLIMATE CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT**

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $28.00 - $42.00/ hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
