Job Description
Coordinates, develops and monitors the flow of materials, information and/or inventory. Creates reports and interprets production data to identify resources and materials needed.
May be tasked with performing ancillary duties related to Production Expediting by coordinating the movement of materials throughout the plant.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels.
- Interprets data to determine productions needs relative to inventory and/or materials required.
- Performs manual and clerical duties related to the shipment and receipt of materials, supplies, equipment and finished products shipped via internal freight fleet or third party LTL carrier.
- Maintain necessary files and documentation.
- May perform activities related to load planning of outbound trucks to meet customer delivery requirements and cost parameters.
- Utilize small hand tools and operates material handling equipment including forklifts, skids, pallet handlers, hand trucks, etc. to stage materials and load trucks.
- Typical shipping activities include checking goods against shipping documents and authorizations.
- Pack goods for shipment according to specifications, equipment characteristics, transportation methods and routes.
- Verify identification and quality of product, prepare bills of lading, post weight and shipping charges, stamp, stencil or attach information and shipping instructions on containers, load shipment onto trucks, and maintain inventory of cartons, tapes, crates, clamps, foam and other packing material.
- Typical receiving activities include taking receipt of raw materials, components or equipment and unload from trucks primarily using a forklift truck and pallet jacks.
- Check incoming materials against bills of lading, packing slips, etc., verifying nomenclature, identification and quantity of the materials.
- Maintaining records of goods received and damaged goods.
- Create labels.
- Receive and organize plant supplies as needed.
- Inputs data into computer system related to production needs of materials and/or resources required.
- Supplies other departments with pertinent information and reports that assist in determining material needs.
- Works with vendors to coordinate shipments of materials to the plant.
- Secures transportation of products leaving the plant that meet customer requirements, are cost-effective.
- Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out - tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies.
- Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong computer literacy required. Internal Inventory Exp (SAP) required.
- Strong spreadsheet and database experience a plus.
- Good organizational and communication skills required.
- Ability to read and interpret data and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to effectively communicate with and coach people is also required.
Additional Information
The pay range for this role at the noted location is $17.00 - $18.50 / hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime.
