Directs organizational sourcing strategies and programs meant to identify, evaluate, and maintain a vendor network. Oversees a team of analysts that are responsible for ensuring that the company's vendors or supplies comply with quality standards or regulatory requirements
Oversees development of sourcing strategies to identify vendors that meet the organization's quality, cost, or service requirements. Establishes policies and practices for evaluating products, goods, or services prior to purchase, and ensures standards are continuously met after purchase. Negotiates contracts and agreements and ensures compliance with internal or external purchasing requirements. Identifies trends in organizational purchasing and identifies opportunities for cost reduction through purchase consolidation. Acts as a liaison between internal stakeholders and external suppliers, maintaining relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
Collaborates with organizational management teams to identify quality standards or regulatory requirements that impact the organization's vendors. Defines standards and requirements and communicates these the organization's vendors. Identifies tests, measures, or other methods of assessing and tracking compliance. Develops and implements processes for evaluating vendors and resolving issues related to non-compliance. Participates in negotiations with potential vendors or suppliers.
Experience and Education:
Has extensive experience with the concepts and principles of one or more related fields or departments. Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination. Supervision is often provided through a team of subordinate managers. Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management. Establishes departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization. Typically requires a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience, including some prior management experience. Hospitality experience required, Hotel experience preferred.
