Job Description

Position Overview

This position will work with the Director of Communications, Marketing, and PR to support REBA and the REBA Institute communications initiatives through research, planning, stakeholder outreach, and execution and monitoring of key advocacy campaigns. This includes research and media analyses of energy market policy and regulatory trends, and topical areas, such as clean tech and grid decarbonization, to support proactive media relations; editorial planning for institutional content; reporting on campaign engagement and marketing efforts; and contributing to executive communications.

Core Responsibilities

Be a key member of the Communications Team with a focus on developing and executing strategies to elevate the profile and priorities of REBA’s Policy and Market Innovations program through essential duties and responsibilities, including:

  • Collaboration with program leadership to develop compelling key messages across the program’s core advocacy initiatives to support internal and external communications.
  • Implementation of strategic and coordinated approach to proactive advocacy PR efforts, including identification of program activities that align with current, relevant media coverage.
  • Support development, execution, and monitoring of high-profile MarComm campaigns, including creation of supplemental materials, stakeholder outreach, and analysis of impact.
  • Manage program-specific and institutional editorial calendars to ensure cohesive and timely execution across projects and priorities, and advise on opportunities to position program leadership through convenings, publications, and peer organizations.
  • Craft engaging written and visual communications products, including advocacy letters, blogs, rapid-response commentary representing organizational priorities, social media content, newsletters, presentations, and op-eds.
  • Other duties as prioritized in partnership with program leadership.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred)--or equivalent professional experience--in business, communications, English, energy or environmental science, marketing, policy, public relations, or sustainability
•    3-5 years of public relations, communications, or government relations experience, preferably at a mission-driven nonprofit, trade association, public relations agency, government office or clean energy company.
•    Ability to distill complex policy and regulatory topics into compelling narratives. 
•    Ability to deliver high-quality products that complement high-profile advocacy campaigns.
•    Exceptional written and verbal communications skills with the ability to leverage visual aids (graphics, videos, PowerPoint presentations).
•    Ability to manage many tasks, prioritize amongst tasks, and willingness/ability to ask for support or guidance when needed.
•    Direct experience in clean energy industry strongly preferred 
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 

Additional Information

Compensation

REBA strives for pay equity, based on experience, qualifications, and performance.  REBA's Associate/Sr. Associate salary band is $68,000-$103,500 with a 5% bonus opportunity. We anticipate most candidates for this particular role to join REBA toward the beginning of the Associate range--closer to $70,000--but more experienced professionals will be considered as well.
