The Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance (REBA) is an alliance of large clean energy buyers, developers, service providers, and NGOs, who are unlocking the marketplace for all non-residential energy buyers to lead a rapid transition to a cleaner, prosperous, zero-carbon energy future.

Job Description

Why Intern with REBA?
REBA is driving towards a zero-carbon energy future. REBA Interns gain essential professional skills and experience in a non-profit trade association while working alongside a world-class team. They gain both the birds-eye view of how system change can be accomplished and understand the daily tasks and activities which ensure its realization. They learn about renewable energy including how corporations across all sectors, like Google, General Motors, and Citi are shifting the energy system, while building professional skills across a diverse range of topics. 

Internship Structure

Compensation:  This internship position pays $20 per hour.  Educational credit may be available through your institution.

Schedule: 20 hours/week, weekly schedule is flexible and will be determined with your supervisor after hiring. 

Mandatory training:  Tuesday, September 24th from 11am to 4pm Eastern / 9am to 2pm Mountain.

Location: REBA DC office: 1425 K St NW, Suite 1000 or REBA Boulder office: 2490 Junction Place, Suite 200.

Term: 4 months, with possibility to extend based on performance and availability.

Internship Content: Interns work directly in one or more of REBA’s programs and quickly become an essential part of the team. They work with an Intern Mentor who supports daily work, and an Intern Supervisor who ensures a positive experience and continual growth. Interns will identify 2-4 key objectives which they intend to meet throughout the course of the internship, agreed upon by their Supervisor.

Core Responsibilities

·        Support for REBA’s member education content development, which may include:

o   Research & writing on case studies about innovative and best practices in renewable energy procurement;

o   Contributing to blog posts or other written materials in print or on the web;

and/or

o   Development of online learning materials, such as primers, guides, and instructional videos, to support our members’ knowledge on renewable energy markets and procurement;

·        Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Interns must be 18 years of age or older. We are seeking applicants with the following qualifications:

·        Education/Experience: Working toward master’s degree in a field related to energy, environment, or education.

·        Beneficial to have experience in one or more areas:

o   Renewable energy markets and technologies;

o   Journalism, video production, or communications;

o   Data analysis or visualization;

o   Trainings, instructional design/theory, or curriculum development.
