The Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance (REBA) is an alliance of large clean energy buyers, developers, service providers, and NGOs, who are unlocking the marketplace for all non-residential energy buyers to lead a rapid transition to a cleaner, prosperous, zero-carbon energy future.

Job Description

 

Why Intern with REBA?
 

REBA is driving towards a zero-carbon energy future. REBA Interns gain essential professional skills and experience in a non-profit trade association while working alongside a world-class team. They gain both the birds-eye view of how system change can be accomplished and understand the daily tasks and activities which ensure its realization. They learn about renewable energy including how corporations across all sectors, like Google, General Motors, and Citi are shifting the energy system, while building professional skills across a diverse range of topics. 

Internship Structure

Length of Internship:  12 weeks with opportunity for continuation based on individual performance and program need

Compensation:  $20 per hour.  Educational credit may be available through your institution.

Schedule: 20 hours/week, weekly schedule is flexible and will be determined with your supervisor after hiring.

Mandatory training:  Tuesday, September 24th from 11am – 4pm Eastern.

Location: REBA DC office: 1425 K St NW, Suite 1000 (remote work options to be determined with supervisor)

Internship Content: Interns work directly in one or more of REBA’s programs and quickly become an essential part of the team. They work with an Intern Mentor who supports daily work, and an Intern Supervisor who ensures a positive experience and continual growth. Interns will identify 2-4 key objectives which they intend to meet throughout the course of the internship, agreed upon by their Supervisor.

Core Responsibilities

Support for building out catalog and resources for REBA’s market innovation program, which may include: 

·        Conduct mapping of ways in which REBA members have engaged in clean energy innovation and resources available to accelerate engagement;

·        Support landscape analysis of ways in which companies are procuring renewable energy today;

·        Contributing to blog posts or other written materials in print or on the web; 

·        Research and writing of online learning materials, including guides, best practices, and case studies, to support our members’ knowledge and accelerate replication of innovative transactions and programs; 

·        Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications & Desired Skills

Interns must be 18 years of age or older. We are seeking applicants with the following qualifications:

·        Education/Experience: Working toward master’s degree in a field related to energy, environment, or policy. 

·        Beneficial to have experience in one or more areas

o   Energy/electricity markets

o   Renewable energy markets and technologies 

o   Data management and analysis
