QSG has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an Executive Director for an inspirational, neighborhood-based non-profit that provides preservation and creation of homeownership and the resident-driven revitalization of a historic community. This organization is committed to improving the quality of life for residents and their community.

Job Description

The Executive Director strategically leads the organization to respond to increasing and evolving needs as relates to homeownership, housing stability, and other community issues in order to foster a diverse and thriving neighborhood with record-setting African American homeownership rates.

This is a permanent position. Currently, the hours are part-time, 30 hours per week.  Potentially, subject to change to full-time.

Leadership and Team Management

• Lead strategic thinking and planning efforts, particularly as relates to expanding services to the community, including housing programs and other community needs that contribute to a thriving neighborhood

• Develop and oversee expansion, including the creation of new programs that quickly respond to evolving needs and challenges of it's constituents, especially in the time of COVID-19

• Supervise and manage existing programs

• Manage the organizational structure of the organization, strategically expanding roles in line with programmatic priorities and financial resources

• Foster a positive, collaborative and inclusive organizational culture

• Hold regular staff meetings and supervise staff, ensuring that all team members receive adequate direction, oversight and training to maximize their individual potential

• Ensure that staff share a common vision of how core job responsibilities contribute to the desired long-term objectives of the organization and benefit the community as a whole

Fundraising Strategy and Financial Management

• Expand the organization fundraising through:

o Collaboration with the Board and Development Manager to establish effective strategies to maximize income through philanthropic giving and strategic partnerships

o Overseeing fund development efforts and assisting with grant prospecting and writing for the organization

o Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting to the Board on fundraising performance o Supervising and managing the Development Manager in cultivation and solicitation activities, leveraging board members as necessary

• Oversee financial management, ensuring strong accountability systems and timely reporting

• Develop a plan for financing and expanding employee benefits

• Develop plan to effectively use technology and social media to maximize productivity, track donations and finances, and communicate with clients, partners and supporters

Board Relationship

• Collaborate with the Board on strategic planning during expansion process • Working with the Board Chair, strategically expand Board membership • Identify Board training needs and recommend a plan of action

• With the Board chair develop Board meeting schedule, agendas, and all necessary materials for effective governance

• Work effectively and successfully with the Board, advisory committees, and community partners Reporting Lines:

The Executive Director reports to the Board, is supervised by the Board President, and works closely with the Housing Director.
