Job Description

Overview
Currently seeking an experienced Labor Cost Estimator in our Secaucus, NJ office to join our team. The Labor Cost Estimator projects and controls labor costs by collecting and studying information; controlling installation & delivery costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Experienced Labor cost estimator must be able to create labor budgets for delivery and installation of furniture systems, architectural walls and ancillary product.  Steelcase is the main manufacturer so experience in Steelcase is preferred but knowledge of multiple vendors is critical.
  • Able to read and understand furniture systems and floor plans.
  • Understands how different systems are assembled in the field.
  • Able to put together a Schedule and understand the timeline of a project start to finish.
  • Able to apply manpower to a project as per the schedule and budget.
  • Able to work with others in a collaborative setting, work with scheduling team and PM to make sure jobs come in on budget.
  • Able to go to job sites for bid walk throughs.

Qualifications

 

  • 5+ years of experience of dealing with purchase orders, order entry, invoicing, and payroll or other relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, asset management and project management
  • Voluminous line entry into a customized sequel database tracking system, printing
  • Must be able to read and understand a BOL and installation worksheet of products 
  • Proficient with Office 365; intermediate skills in Excel and Power Point and able to learn new systems quickly
  • Experience with Hedberg and Procore
  • Ability to handle competing demands and to take initiative
  • Excellent follow-up skills and must be responsive to senior management and other internal/external clients 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and accurate
  • Team player attitude
  • Willing to work overtime, if necessary
