Job Description

SUMMARY: The Assistant Director of Admissions Communication plans, develops, executes, and evaluates communication and marketing strategies for prospective-student recruitment to Queens University of Charlotte. This position reports to the Associate Director of Admissions in support of strategic enrollment initiatives as part of the admissions operations team. This position is charged with ensuring Queens is fully leveraging its customer relations management (CRM) systems’ (Technolutions, Slate) communication and marketing capabilities, especially as new features are offered, staying current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and admissions trends. This position is exempt from provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is not eligible to earn overtime pay for hours worked above 40 in a single work week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
•    Conceptualize, plan, create, test, and deliver highly personalized email campaigns to prospects, inquiries, and applicants.
•    Leveraging CRMs ever-evolving technology to create cutting-edge, personal communication that will engage students. 
•    Ensure updates of annual print and electronic letters, email templates. 
•    Build and oversee delivery of application deadline and event related communication.
•    Measure effectiveness of communication plan and propose changes.
•    Oversee delivery of print and electronic communication.
•    Partner with admissions leadership to source and communicate to student prospects. 
•    Build and deliver reports to measure effectiveness of communication for admissions team and campus-partners. 
•    Update and maintain Queens’ profiles on admissions third-party sites.
•    Support graduate admissions recruitment efforts by developing, executing, analyzing, and supporting communication to the University’s on-ground and on-line graduate programs.
•    Collaborate with marketing team to capture the most compelling student stories, images, and campus events to create brand-consistent and engaging communication. 
•    Ensure Queens is fully leveraging Slate’s communication and marketing capabilities, especially as new features are offered, staying current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and admissions trends. 
•    Reading, evaluating and making first level recommendations on undergraduate applicants to consider for admission based on current university priorities.

Non-Essential Duties
•    Other duties and special projects may be assigned to meet department and university needs.

Qualifications

Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:
•    Three or more years of experience in college admissions, marketing, or a related field.
•    Superior written and verbal communication skills.
•    Previous experience in customized mass email delivery software. 
•    Experience with CRM database system and demonstrated ability to leverage technology. 
•    Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, CSS and Web CMS.
•    Demonstrated commitment to data-driven decision-making, including effective analytical skills and proven results in achieving objectives and goals. 
•    Strong team orientation and effective interpersonal skills. 
•    Experience with holistic application review is beneficial, but not required. 
•    High level of initiative and the ability work independently. Ideal candidates will demonstrate history of taking ownership while going beyond assigned tasks to deliver excellent results.
•    Strong follow-up and follow-through skills with proven ability to deliver projects on time.
•    Solid knowledge of the project management lifecycle, including experience leading all phases (initiation, planning, execution, closure, evaluation)
•    Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Work Conditions
•    Work in office environment, involving contact with faculty, staff, students, service providers and vendors.
•    Work has deadlines, multiple interruptions, high volume and may be stressful at times.
