Job Description

SUMMARY: The McColl School of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, which is the longest-standing, most prestigious form of specialized/professional accreditation an institution can earn. Less than 5% of business schools worldwide have earned this distinguished accreditation. In 2015, U.S. News & World Report ranked the McColl School among the top 1% of small, private business schools.

This full-time position is responsible for overseeing and directing student services and enrollment management for McColl School undergraduate programs and undergraduate experiential learning. This position reports to the Senior Director of Enrollment Management and Student Services.

This position is exempt from provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is not eligible to earn overtime pay or compensatory time off for additional hours worked.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
•    Oversee and direct student services in the McColl School Undergraduate Programs including:
o    Student Advising – work with McColl School faculty to ensure that McColl School students receive high-quality advising services
o    Student Honor Code – oversee administration of honor code within the McColl School undergraduate program
o    USQC - notification of Academic status (probation, dismissal, etc.) at the end of each semester.
o    Course schedule management
o    Student reporting and analytics

•    Oversee and direct Undergraduate Experiential Learning (co-curricular activities and events that happen outside of the classroom such as workshops, student clubs, and career preparation).
o    Work with Dean and Faculty Chair to establish the McColl Student Engagement Calendar
o    Serve as the “Business Club/DECA Chapter” Advisor while growing and nurture the relationship with the regional and national DECA organization.
o    Student Professional Development - review student resumes, career coaching, occasional life counseling (outside advisee roster).

•    Oversee and direct enrollment management in the McColl School Undergraduate Program including:
o    Develop and run the Annual McColl School Scholarship Competition for prospective students.
o    Coordinate and co-deliver Royal Open Houses (2 in fall) and Scholarship Events (2 spring)
o    Attend and recruit at annual NC DECA State High School Event (spring).
o    Marketing and communications – work with Undergraduate Admissions to clarify image of academic programs, establish enrollment targets to meet goals, understand the school’s differentiating factors and drive student prospects.
Non-Essential Duties:
•    Other duties and special projects may be assigned to meet McColl School and university needs.

Qualifications

Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:
•    Experience working with traditional undergraduate students in a similar capacity as described above.
•    Corporate business experience that can be translated to undergraduate business students in such a way that enhances their learning experience.
•    The ideal candidate is professionally qualified to teach undergraduate business course(s) and has prior experience developing and presenting same.
•    Marketing and communications experience in the arena of clarifying image, establishing targets to meet goals, understanding differentiating factors and driving student prospects to enrollment.
•    High level of energy and eager to contribute to McColl School’s vision and provide assistance to undergraduate students, faculty and staff.
•    Familiarity with undergraduate student advising and honor code processes and administration.
•    Strong knowledge of and successful application of pedological learning theory in both one-on-one and classroom settings.
•    Strong computer skills (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and ability to quickly learn and apply knowledge to improve outcomes.
•    Excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills, and experience interacting with multiple and diverse constituencies (students, faculty, staff).
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills. Track record of planning and delivering engaging presentations that achieve expected outcomes.
•    Excellent organization and follow-up / follow-through skills to ensure completion of goals and objectives within established timeframes.
•    Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze components and arrive at a logical course of action while knowing when to ask for assistance or direction.
•    Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to effectively prioritize assignments to meet given deadlines.
•    Ability to use absolute discretion when dealing with sensitive, confidential materials; familiarity with FERPA a plus.
•    Knowledge Jenzabar, SharePoint and/or other online learning platforms is helpful.
•    Willingness and ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends achieve objectives of the position.
•    Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in experience and education. A Master’s degree strongly preferred.

Work Conditions

·        Work in office environment, involving contact with students, faculty, staff, service providers and vendors.

·        Work has deadlines, multiple interruptions, high volume and may be stressful at times.

·        Requires occasional evening and weekend work to achieve objectives of the position.
