We work with clients including financial institutions, social media platforms, and large online retailers to provide relevant, actionable open-source intelligence gathered from social media and both clear and dark web sources to help our clients understand, evaluate, and reduce risks. The Technical Support Specialist contributes to the success and growth of the company by supporting all aspects of technical operations. This position is 100% in office, and is a part-time role, averaging 20 hours weekly.

Job Description

TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST

 

The Technical Support Specialist requires someone with a drive and passion for technology, security, and a wide range of responsibilities. The position consists of hardware/software support, systems administration, and various projects as assigned.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Essential tasks & responsibilities associated with help desk support and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot various technical issues.

  • Configure new computers in-house and remotely when possible.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues.

  • Acquire technical knowledge dynamically and quickly to work towards problem resolution.

  • Document client communication, troubleshooting steps, and resolution 

  • Monitor network monitoring systems, and notifying management of issues/problems that require escalation

  • User account management within GSuite and within applications, including adds, changes, and deletions in accordance with defined policies and procedures

  • Assist with technology policy creation and updates.

Qualifications

  • Commitment to work twenty hours a week on average. This position requires on-site work in our Birmingham office.  Remote work is not available.

  • Completion of at least one year of college or attainment of comparable credit hours, and currently matriculating 

  • Knowledge/experience troubleshooting desktops and laptops as well as mobile devices

  • Knowledge of backup software and anti-virus software, especially in a server environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with security policy, access control, firewalls, switches, router configuration, network security, and VPN is a plus

  • Ability to effectively research issues and provide solutions
