Job Description

Position: Designer, Video (associate and mid level positions available)

 

The Designer, Video will assist the Design Team in creating all video designs for Quantum projects. It is expected the Designer will create media content, video system drawings, schedules, and specifications packages. The Designer may be responsible for communicating with the client from time to time, and understanding the project’s objectives. The Designer works with the design staff to develop project deliverables as detailed in the project description and contract. The Designer, Video reports to the Manager, Design and Technology.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports the design effort for projects

  • Supports the design implementation and video installation (per project scope)

  • Support development of and communicate video design concepts

  • Organize and produce design documents

  • Assist or direct in field implementation of video design when required

  • Interface with other disciplines throughout the various project phases as required

  • Research video equipment information and video technologies in support of design effort

  • Work with supervisor in order to adhere to budget and schedule

  • Support mock-ups and presentations

  • Perform test and adjust tasks as needed

  • May independently design projects

  • Perform QAQC review on all project submittals and documents

  • Travel to project meetings as needed (Travel estimated at 35%)

  • Provide onsite technical support

  • Continue professional development and education for emerging video technologies and industry standards

Qualifications

Requirement Capabilities:

  • Theater, Film/TV, Theme Park, and/or Museum Design Experience

  • Possess a basic to advanced understanding of the video systems for theatrical and performance spaces

  • Working knowledge of theatrical design and technical knowledge of specific discipline, including methods of construction

  • Working knowledge of architectural and facility requirements and integration of specific discipline products into an attraction, museum, or live event

  • Understanding of the creative process and the development of a creative design

  • Proficient in either Revit, Vectorworks or AutoCAD (3D drafting preferred)

  • Must be able to read architectural blueprints and interpret electrical drawings

  • 0-3+ years experience in in video design for attractions, museums, architecture, or live events

  • Ability to deliver on a project’s established scope, schedule and budget

  • Demonstrated commitment to on-going personal education

  • Understanding of current technology and industry standards for all aspects of design

  • Ability to work flexible hours - nights, weekends, holidays

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or G Suite

  • Possess excellent communication skills; highly motivated; can accept direction easily

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Desired Capabilities:

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator)

  • Proficient in BIM 360

  • Experience with Slack

  • Ability to work closely with all relevant staff to prioritize, organize, instruct and problem-solve during installation, content integration and programming

Quantum Creative Studios is a global company with international projects. Successful candidates may be required to travel internationally and must be comfortable working closely with clients and vendors of different cultural backgrounds. Successful candidates must have a valid passport with no travel restrictions or ability to obtain one within 6 weeks after employment.
