We are currently seeking two Communications Specialists. Candidates must have prior Radio Frequency (RF) experience and a valid driver’s license. Candidates must be able to interview onsite in Frankfort, Kentucky. The selected candidates will be provided with a client vehicle for use of travel from home to worksites as well as a laptop, hot spot, and cell phone. Travel throughout amongst, Louisville, Lexington, and Frankfort will be required. The work hours are from 8:00am to 4:30pm. Candidates will be required to be available on a rotating 24/7 shift throughout the year.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Responsible for maintenance & repairs of the Kentucky Emergency Warning System microwave radio network.

• Monitor network for faults and outages.

• Perform repairs, replacement, & calibration of microwave and RF equipment.

• Maintain tower site properties, to include general housekeeping as well as pesticide & herbicide application.

• Provided with an SUV or light truck with recovery gear, to be used while on duty.

• “On call” duties in response to network outages.

• Keep up with assigned tools & inventory.

• May me asked to work outdoors in harsh environments.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Technical experience relating to communications equipment maintenance preferrable.

• Electrical maintenance, industrial maintenance, other technical experience will be helpful.

• Associates degree, or higher, in a technology field preferrable.

• High school diploma (or equivalent) required.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Proficient computer skills

• Ability to multitask

• Willingness and ability to learn new skills

• Radio frequency and/or microwave radio familiarity

• DC power system knowledge

• Capable of lifting 50lbs.
