Job Description

Quadient is looking for an experienced accounting generalist to join the finance team to assist in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting. This role is crucial in ensuring the integrity of month-end processes and financial analysis for our production businesses.

This position is based at our Loughton manufacturing site with the potential for hybrid working (up to 2 days per week working from home) after successful completion of probationary period.

Your role in our future

  • Prepare and post journals for regular transactions and adjustments, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • To perform reconciliations of control accounts including intercompany balances, accruals and prepayments.
  • Assist with month end reporting by compiling data, preparing management reports including profit and loss and balance sheet and investigating variances, within set timeframes.
  • Extract and analyse production data from ERP system including stock, productivity and efficiency, producing clear reports for managers, highlight key changes and concerns.
  • To assist with monthly stock cycle count checks and reporting on findings, highlighting where further investigation is needed.
  • To assist with supplier payment runs by verifying samples and ensuring payments are made in compliance with company rules.
  • Assist with budget and forecasting preparations including product cost calculations and intercompany recharges.
  • Support the audit process, providing documentation and explanations as required.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • To assist other finance team members and develop a good understanding of their roles in order to provide cover for absences.
  • Support ad hoc financial projects and analysis.

Qualifications

Your profile

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (AAT or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years proven workplace experience. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an accounting role within industry.
  • Good understanding of accounting guidelines and knowledge of UK Accounting Standards.
  • Some experience of audit preparation would be desirable but not essential.
  • Strong IT skills, in particular advanced level Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical, problem solving and reconciliation skills.
  • Proven focus on continuous improvements.
  • Deadline driven and results focused.
  • Work effectively with team members both within the manufacturing site and within the wider Quadient Group organisation.
  • Possess the energy, enthusiasm & flexibility to successfully work with other team members in analysing, understanding, and working to improve the systems that underpin financial reporting.
  • Proven track record of working on your own initiative.
