Love travel and passionate about all things aviation. You’re in the right place. At Jetstar, you get to take-off at work, and in life.

As a team, we’re lucky we get to do both for a living – and we want you to be part of where we go next. Helping our teammates soar is what we’re all about. And with a new fleet of state-of-the-art aircraft, plus new routes being added, the sky’s the limit.

Take-off with your next opportunity!

At Jetstar, we are seeking a UX/UI Designer to join our squads in the Digital team. This role will drive the user experience and interaction design of the Jetstar digital platforms. You’ll play a key role in shaping our Jetstar customer experiences across digital domains.

To support this, the Designer will conduct user research and produce insight-driven UX and UI design, to formulate the best end-to-end experience for our customers.

This position will work in our agile teams, alongside Product Owners, Business Analysts and Developers, acting as an advocate for user experience and accessibility, applying creativity to solve complex problems.

We’re looking for experience in:

  • Leading design end to end: experience delivering responsive end-to-end projects with at least 3 years working in cross-functional teams or digital agency in a dedicated design role. Comfortable from inception to execution, leveraging UX principals, conducting user research (moderated and unmoderated) tasks, lo-fi concept sketching to high fidelity mock ups and prototypes.
  • Craft and creativity: strong interaction and visual skills, with a keen eye for details to achieve functional and pleasing aesthetics applied from the smallest legal message to complex multi-step experiences. Comfortable designing reusable and scalable UI components and contribute to the growing design system.
  • Problem solving skills and a strong CX/product lens: an ability to understand customer needs, behaviours and motivations, and how to translate this understanding into experience opportunities.
  • Communication and collaboration skills: the ability to articulate CX ideas effectively and provide clear reasoning for decisions, using research, data and storytelling to inform and influence – particularly strong in design advocacy and translating how the specifics of UI patterns drive broader business strategies
  • A natural leader with a growth mindset: someone who steps up to guide projects and people when needed, who treats setbacks as opportunities to learn rather than obstacles. Bringing positive energy to challenges and helping the team navigate change with confidence.
  • Comfortable working with some ambiguity and autonomy:  we’re an airline first, and things can change at the last minute. We’re looking for someone who enjoys fast-paced work environments and who takes initiative to drive progress.
  • Contributing to a growing design culture: we’re building new design operations, and this person feels comfortable asking questions, unpicking complicated problems, and can communicate their mental model with an attitude of sharing and learning together.
  • Advocate for accessibility: Craft digital experiences that are perceivable, usable and robust for users of all abilities, creating an inclusive experience.
  • Proficient with Figma: Comfortable creating production ready designs, providing detailed design specifications, and working closely with the development team. Bonus if you have experience with Askable for unmoderated and moderated user tests and Dovetail for storing and accessing these insights.
  • Embracing AI to elevate the craft: curious and proactive about using AI tools to speed up workflows, explore concepts faster, and free up more time for high-value design thinking. You see AI as a collaborator that sharpens efficiency and design excellence, not a shortcut that replaces judgement or craft
  • Agile: A general understanding of an agile engineering development process and the designers role in it.

When applying, make sure to attach a portfolio within the file size limit or have a portfolio link in your CV, to demonstrate your skills and some examples of work you’ve produced.

Applications close on 19th of July
