About the role
Our Airport Services Team comprise of our committed team of Customer Service and Cabin Babbage Officers. Our team are often our first point of contact for our customers. They are the face of Jetstar and are often our customer’s first point of contact and play an integral role in ensuring that our customer experience the Jetstar values through the delivery of exceptional customer service.
Our Airport Services Workforce Planning Team have an exciting opportunity available in the role of Workforce Planning Team Lead. Reporting to the Manager, Workforce Planning, you will be responsible for leading a team of Workforce Planning Officers in the planning of resources including effective and transparent allocation, coordination, and optimisation. Additionally, you will undertake comprehensive reporting, data management as to achieve optimal resource productivity and efficiencies, ensuring that labour allocation is aligned to rostering and EBA requirements.
As Workforce Planning Team Lead, your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring performance of labour utilisation through workforce systems, processes, and data analysis to minimise variances to budget targets
- Maintaining overall workforce data and systems by conducting regular quality audits to ensure data integrity
- Identifying opportunities for improvement through analysis and developing business justifications (including presentations) whilst complying with employment agreements and standard operating procedures
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with frontline leaders as to identify opportunities to improve resource productivity and efficiencies.
- Providing coaching and leadership to a small team of six direct reports, including acting as a point of reference for all escalations from Workforce Planning Officers and provide solutions that keep in mind financial and business targets.
- Key to achieving success in this role will be your ability to balance your focus on driving positive roster outcomes for our frontline, leading our WPO team, developing strong relationships and trust with our Airport leaders and being the source of truth for rostering guidelines and EBA requirements.
About you
We are searching for a highly collaborative, analytical individual who will brings a natural ability to establish relationships quickly, create a plan and get straight into action. You will have a love of process improvement and will be comfortable to draw upon various datasets and insights as make recommendations and influence outcomes. You may be an experienced workforce planner or rostering specialist, or a current analyst who is seeking a new challenge and opportunity to develop in people management. Ideally, you will bring exposure to a similar customer centric, fast-paced, operational environment.
You will bring:
- Exposure to a Workforce Planning role, coupled with confidence in the use of Workforce Planning systems, would hold you in high regard
- Thorough understanding in data and presentation tools such as Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- A track record of translating data into actionable insights and business improvements
- Exposure to leading others, or a genuine interest in developing your people leadership skills
- Ability to provide direction and coaching, encourage teamwork, and inspire confidence.
- Commercial acumen and the ability to learn new systems, operations and follow processes.
- Ability to maintain confidential information and work on commercially sensitive projects.
- Ability to develop a good understanding of employee needs and business requirements.
- Understanding of Enterprise Agreements, standard operating procedures, and Work Health Safety legislation.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication approaches, including a confidence to engage, debate and influence
- A flexible and can-do attitude, with the ability to flex between coaching others and rolling up your sleeves and implementing actions
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as a Business degree, would hold you in high regard.
