The Manager Strategy is responsible for driving the strategic thinking that underpins the key growth opportunities for Loyalty as well as governing the strategy that delivers Loyalty to its targets. A core part of the role will be leading the ongoing Strategy functions of the Loyalty business both from a portfolio and business level. It is including scoping new opportunities (from strategy to business case creation, proposals and contract negotiations with Partners), commercial deal assessment and structuring support as well as preparing Group leadership and Board materials.
The role reports into the Head of Strategy as the core strategy support role and part of the central Office of the CFO. It will also work within a multi-disciplinarian Accelerator Squad and liaise with a number of Squad Leads (Heads of) and their teams across the Loyalty business including Commercial Partners & QBR, Core Program, B2C businesses, and Data and Analytics.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- 10+ years’ experience in strategy focused role (preference for experience in a top tier
consulting firm) - Tertiary qualifications in relevant business discipline (Commerce, Business, Finance)
MBA desirable, not required - Extensive background in innovation and strategy consulting (from strategy
formulation to planning and implementation) with a customer focused member and
partner mind set - Superior strategic development, financial, communications and project management
skills. Strategic thinking, logical and analytical problem solving. Able to apply simple
framing to complex problems - Advanced analysis skills, including modelling skills
- Self-motivated/autonomous - Strong sense of urgency, focus on outcomes and drive
for success - Portfolio management experience - building cases to trade off a range of options
against one another (from strategic, financial and feasibility lenses) - Ability to administer numerous projects / tasks simultaneously and an ability to work
to tight deadlines. - Ability to work in cross functional teams and to lead to successful business outcomes
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the
ability to effectively liaise with Qantas management, and senior executives of
external partners.
