The Principal Business Analyst Business Improvement & Reporting will be able to evaluate and critically analyse current business processes within assigned business segments. They will take initiative to develop new approaches to increase efficiency and effectiveness using Lean tools and methodologies.
The successful candidate will work with key stakeholders to understand information requirements and identify value drivers. They will be providing accurate, relevant and timely information and analysis to stakeholders as well as documenting and reporting performance/trends with a continuous improvement focus. Ensuring project documentation is completed for all projects and all project activities are accurate and quality controlled will be crucial to this role’s success.
You’ll have –
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar business analytical role
- Tertiary Qualifications with relevant operational experience
- In depth knowledge of database structures, data warehousing and data modelling principles
- Expertise in software programming using the following programming language: Java, C++, Python, PySpark, M, R
- Competency in data analysis of large datasets from different sources using business intelligence tools (Excel, SQL, Qlik, PowerBi, Palantir, Jaspersoft)
- Good working knowledge and experience of system analysis, design, construction & implementation principles.
- Good working knowledge of database management system such as Oracle – PL/SQL, MS Access, MySQL
- Good working knowledge of Engineering Technical Services (ES) management system with a sound understanding of the systems supporting it.
- Familiar with the Qantas Maintenance Information System (Maintenix) reporting via QE Data Warehouse and business reporting platforms including, Jaspersoft, and Power BI
- Knowledgeable with reliability reporting requirements and principles
- Ability to effectively translate complex business ideas and requirements to specifications.
- Ability to write clear and concise analysis, design and test documentation
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Effective communication and business writing skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with a project team, business teams and stakeholders, and third-party vendors
- Ability to adapt to rapid changes in the working environment; ready to accept changes and take ownership of new challenges
- Customer oriented attitude: ability to listen to customers (internal and external) and identify solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations
- Ability to effectively manage own time, organise work priorities, ability to work with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to effectively communicate with peers, support groups and clients and influence outcomes
- Positive/flexible attitude
