Company Description
Help us build the "System of Action" that supercharges global manufacturing teams. QAD is entering a high-velocity era to architect the world’s first AI-native, agentic ERP. We are moving beyond legacy "systems of record" to build an autonomous platform where humans and AI work as a tag team to redefine how factories operate. Join us at this pivotal moment to build our next generation platform, lead the next generation of the Adaptive Enterprise and turn global speed into strategy.
Job Description
Ignite Your Future
As a Principal Staff Software Engineer, you will serve as the chief visionary and architect for our Integration Platform. You will operate as a high-leverage Individual Contributor, defining the technical blueprint, setting the technical direction, and engineering a highly scalable, ERP-agnostic connectivity tier.
Active use of AI-native development workflows—Cursor, Claude Code, and CodeRabbit or equivalent—is a baseline requirement, not a nice-to-have. We treat AI augmentation as the standard engineering operating model. P6 leaders are expected to lead by example, championing these tools to exponentially scale their architectural output.
The Mission: What You'll Be Building
You will be the foundational technical leader responsible for building a resilient, next-generation integration platform. Your primary mission is to make our platform radically ERP-agnostic, designing a system where new enterprise ERP systems can be fully onboarded within a strict 1–2 week target. You will architect the backbone that seamlessly connects QAD’s core with major enterprise ecosystems like SAP, Oracle, Infor, and custom legacy deployments.
Your Impact / What you will be doing:
Platform Architectural Ownership: Act as the ultimate technical authority for our Adapter Library, Canonical Data Model (CDM), and automated Schema Mapping Engine. Abstract ERP-specific quirks flawlessly without losing metadata or data fidelity.
Define the Integration Vision: Design and build production-grade, reusable connectors and framework layers utilizing REST, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and event-driven integration patterns.
Methodology Innovation: Conceptualize, implement, and refine the automated '1–2 week ERP onboarding' technical methodology—providing the tools, automated testing strategies, and blueprints for delivery teams.
Technical Influence & Governance: Act as the primary technical partner to the Integration Engineering Manager, setting execution goals for the squad. Provide technical direction to Staff Engineers and cross-functional engineering teams without direct people management overhead.
Scale & Resilience: Set the gold standard for performance, cross-cloud reliability, security, and low-latency data streams. Review and audit critical system architectures across the broader adaptive enterprise platform.
Qualifications
The Mindset:
Ecosystem Thinker: Deep understanding of how diverse, distributed global enterprises scale. You can step back, look at the entire supply chain enterprise web, and abstract complex behaviors into clean architectural interfaces.
AI-First Pioneer: Eagerly pushes the boundaries of engineering using AI-native tooling. You don't just use AI; you figure out how AI agents can interact with enterprise APIs via MCP.
Strategic Catalyst: Devises world-class solutions based on limited data or precedent. You use evaluation, judgment, and interpretation to drive consensus on highly complex technical decisions.
Frictionless Collaborator: Works seamlessly with Product Management, Core Architecture, QA, and DevOps to ensure integration capabilities are standard pillars of our SaaS platform.
What we are looking for:
Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 15+ years of professional software engineering and enterprise-scale integration architecture experience.
Integration Mastery: Proved track record designing enterprise-grade iPaaS frameworks, complex event-driven architectures, or middleware systems (e.g., heavily extending or building foundational layers akin to MuleSoft, Boomi, or custom high-scale engines).
Enterprise ERP Depth: Profound hands-on architectural experience mapping, ingesting, and connecting to heavy ERP/CRM environments (SAP, Oracle, Infor). Familiarity with QAD ERP ecosystems is a significant differentiator.
API & Interoperability Expertise: Mastery in distributed integration patterns, GraphQL, REST, gRPC, and next-gen integration frameworks like MCP (Model Context Protocol).
Technical Foundations: Absolute mastery of Data Structures, Algorithms, Object-Oriented Principles, cloud-native architectures (AWS/Azure), and database modeling (SQL/NoSQL).
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Location: This is a hybrid opportunity based out of Pune (requiring 3 days in-office weekly).
