Job Description

Senior Business Consultant, Pre-Sales

Responsible for determining and demonstrating the solution fit to the project/customer’s needs. Provide customers with product and/or solutions’ advice, promote business relationships and generate sales leads with high-level contacts through face-to-face client site visits and/or virtual contacts. Answer complex questions on product function and usage, prepare and perform detailed presentations and as required, product application demonstrations for both manufacturing ERP and supply chain solutions. Develop and maintain skills to promote the company as trusted advisor status with customers and effectively deliver solution messages.

Partner with the salesperson to present the product and/or solution to the prospect/customer. Responsible for the functional and technical area of the sales process. Provide subject matter expertise in support of the customer process improvement and compliance with business processes and procedures.

Prepare and deliver application solution demonstrations as required. The demonstrations are built as a key element of the sales process and the exchanges provided to the prospects/customers product and/or solutions advice. Analyze the functional and technical needs of the customer, respond to customer RFP’s (Request for Purchase) with functional and technical specifications and design adapted solutions to meet the customer requirements. Evaluate the solutions in terms of feasibility, planning, costs and communicate the technical proposal and competitively position QAD’s ERP and supply chain solutions.

Develop and maintain a high-level understanding of the functional capabilities across the breadth of QAD’s enterprise solution applications in order to provide customers and sales reps with product and/or solutions advice and/or demonstrations during engagement discussions. Work closely with customers and industry specific verticals to understand QAD product and functional gaps and work with Product Management in prioritizing these gaps for future releases following make, buy or partner strategy. Understand the product road map and direction and answer complex questions on product function and usage. 

Develop and maintain skills to promote the company as trusted advisor status with customers and effectively deliver the company's solution messages. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of trends that impact QAD ERP and supply chain solutions market space by maintaining a presence in relevant professional associations and subscribing to internal and external industry focused distribution lists or publications. Maintain an understanding of how industry trends affect competitive positioning, proactively maintain up to date knowledge of the company’s products, attend webinars, trade shows or conventions as required. Provide product information as required and product guidance to other levels of sales and sales managers, participate in QAD ERP and supply chain projects cost estimation and work closely with the Services department to conduct the project estimation.

Qualifications

The ability to work in a manufacturing and supply chain environment executing and improving customer’s business processes including “market to order”, “source to contract”, “procure to pay”,” plan to produce”, “record to report”.

A key part of the role is about mapping enterprise business processes to QAD solutions and articulating the benefits in eliminating technical debt and having one single integrated enterprise application architecture. Hands-on experience working in a manufacturing or supply chain environment is also required in order to lead detailed process assessments at the customer’s manufacturing sites where one to one interviews need to be conducted with functional subject matter experts in order to understand their current processes and pain points. A thorough knowledge of end to end manufacturing processes is required including APS, ERP planning processes and shopfloor Mfg Ops Mgmt. 

Significant travel within North America is required including customer site visits, industry and QAD partner events. Compensation Package:

  • Pay range:  $171,360.07-228,768.15 Annually (12 Months) 
  • Placement within our pay range will vary based on knowledge, skills, experience, and market location variations as well as internal peer equity
