QAD is seeking a Principal (Lead) Software Engineer who will work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to establish appropriate action. Provides problem resolutions to the reported defects in the form of problem analysis, coding and testing as per Maintenance support procedures and practices. Build enhancements to existing QAD software products in line with the functional specifications provided. Help on the DevOps tasks as well.

What you’ll do:

•  Examination and fixing of assigned customer incidents related to QAD core products post training
• Translate high level business analysis into physical code. Maintain defined quality standards and procedures
• Write Unit and System test plans/specifications and perform testing
• Code review (self & peer) to ensure conformance to quality standards and specifications
• Analyze, design, develops, test, troubleshoot and debug enhancements to the product
• Support R&D in the simplification of the release activities, like release creation / patch and product delivery tasks.
• Adhere to Scrum methodology and team standards

What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Science, Engineering, or Mathematics or equivalent work experience
• 7+ years experience in a software engineering role
• Proficient in Java programming language and some exposure to Python, or PHP will be preferred. Build tools such as ANT, Maven
• Experience working with source version control tools i.e. Git or Subversion.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix, RDBMS is mandatory
• Understanding of Rest API and client server architecture
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
• Fluent English and strong verbal/written communication skills
• Able to take ownership of assigned tasks and meet responsibilities with minimal supervision. A self-starter, with a strong work ethic and a success-based attitude
• Passionate about learning new technologies and systems
• Flexible and team-oriented, with good interpersonal skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks

Valued Knowledge and Skills

• Experience working in an Agile or Scrum team
• Experience working in a globally dispersed team
• Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence and Bamboo)
• Experience with AWS Deployments
• Experience with virtualization, configuration management, and deployment tools such as Jenkins, Terraform
• Experience with test automation tools, Selenium, Test Complete
• Experience with Progress OpenEdge
