Job Description

pureIntegration is looking for a DEVOPS Engineer, Junior - Kubernetes (Remote) to assist with design, architecture, and ongoing DevOps tasks of a scalable, fullstack, microservice platform. This platform consists of a microservice backend running on Kubernetes and an Angular frontend. The platform has high visibility as it is integral to monitoring our client's video delivery platforms.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting architecting and implementing scalable, high-performing microservice solutions running Node.js, RabbitMQ, and Mongo. Help build and manage CI/CD pipelines to deploy solutions on-prem or in AWS (or other cloud service providers).

Responsibilities:

  • Microservice Architecture: Collaborate on the design and architecture of scalable microservice solutions, leveraging technologies like Node.js, RabbitMQ, and Mongo. 

  • CI/CD Pipeline: Play a pivotal role in building and managing robust CI/CD pipelines for efficient solution deployment, whether it's on-premises or in cloud environments like AWS (Amazon Web Services) or other cloud service providers. 

  • DevOps Tooling: Develop and maintain essential DevOps tools to streamline the deployment and management of microservice components dedicated to video monitoring and analysis. 

  • Cloud Optimization: Analyze and enhance our Private/Public cloud architecture and design, ensuring it meets performance and scalability requirements. 

  • Deployment Expertise: Perform deployment activities and collaborate closely with client systems to ensure seamless system integration. 

  • Collaboration: Work closely with both our Development and Client teams to conceptualize and execute design strategies and implementation plans. 

  • Documentation: Create detailed architecture documentation and effectively communicate your implementation approach to team members. 

  • Issue Resolution: Collaborate with developer and client operations teams to promptly find and resolve issues, maintaining a highly available and efficient infrastructure. 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Must have prior DevOps experience helping manage multi-node-based deployment environments
  • Must have experience building and running CI/CD pipelines
  • Must have experience with Linux environments.
  • Microservice, Kubernetes, Cloud architecture experience
  • Strong understanding of networking technologies
  • Proven experience in architecting and implementing scalable, high-performance microservice solutions, with a strong focus on Kubernetes, Node.js, RabbitMQ, and/or Mongo
  • Demonstrated ability to design and manage CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable deployment processes
  • Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably AWS, and the ability to optimize cloud architecture for performance
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering top-notch solutions. 

Preferred Skills:

  • Kubernetes Expertise: Proficiency in working with Kubernetes, with a strong preference for experience in managing Rancher, K3s, RKE, and other on-prem hosted Kubernetes clusters. Familiarity with Kubernetes web user interfaces (UI) is a plus

  • AWS-EKS Mastery: A solid understanding of how AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) clusters are configured and supported. Experience in optimizing EKS for performance and scalability is highly valued

  • Version Control Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in version control systems, particularly with "git." Experience with platforms such as GitLab and GitHub for collaborative software development and version management

  • Container Orchestration: Knowledge of container orchestration principles and tools beyond Kubernetes, such as Docker-compose, can be beneficial

  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Experience in building and perfecting CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery

  • Scripting and Automation: Ability in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Yaml) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible) to streamline deployment and management processes

  • Monitoring and Logging: Understanding of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Data Dog) to ensure the health and performance of microservices

  • Security Awareness: Knowledge of security best practices for containerized applications and cloud environments

  • Collaborative Team Player: Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and clients

  • Problem-Solving Mindset: A proactive approach to finding and resolving complex technical challenges

  • Continuous Learning: A commitment to staying up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies in the DevOps and Kubernetes ecosystem
