Location:  Position is remote. Client site is in Washington DC.

Work Arrangement:  1099 Contract Role or W2 Fulltime

Work Authorization: EAD, GC, US Citizens.  We Do Not Accept H1B Visas.  We Do Not accept C2C relationships

Pay rate: $80 - $90/hr 1099.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage troubleshooting and recovery of complex internally and externally facing services in production, from low to critical impacts
  • Foster work collaboratively across disparate specialties during incident resolution
  • Create, document and present on solutions to production-impacting problems, fostering knowledge sharing adoption of common techniques across enterprise teams
  • Continually drive improvement to proactive automated monitoring, anomaly detection, alerting and notification
  • Participate with application engineering teams in the creation of service level objectives and business-service focused metrics and views of production systems
  • Proactively identify and implement automation to handle routine maintenance tasks, information gathering and issue resolution
  • Provide guidance and subject matter expertise in the area of architectural improvement to drive resiliency and scalability across multiple cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc) and SaaS vendors (Snowflake, Databricks, etc)
  • Identify root cause of incidents, and help drive improvement in root cause analysis (RCA) processes

Skills:

  • AWS or Azure Solutions Architect, Administrator or Developer certification
  • 4+ years experience supporting complex microservices applications in public cloud at scale
  • 4+ years experience with Linux, Windows, python, Go, PowerShell, C#, Java script or similar
  • Demonstrable experience with incident management processes and observability concepts / tooling
  • Experience with both relational and non-relational database architecture, availability and scaling concepts
