pureIntegration is seeking a Cloud Software Development Manager to oversee the delivery of software engineering and development projects.  This individual should bring a strong understanding and experience building microservice architectures running on AWS EKS/Fargate/Kubernetes. As part of the initial effort, they will also lead the transition from leveraging an offshore development team to hiring and running a new onshore development team. Primary responsibilities include helping identify and interview team candidates, running Agile ceremonies, release planning, interfacing with product and engineering management, removing roadblocks from individuals or between teams, and participating in architecture and design processes. 

The ideal candidate will have past experience with hands on software engineering, has remained current with understanding of software development and DevOps trends, but has transitioned or is looking to transition to a project leadership role.  The candidate will have the capability to understand the development activity being performed at a detailed level, and provide guidance to software development teams.

Location: Greenwood Village, CO

Work Arrangement: Contract 1099 hourly role, initial contract period through 12/31/2021 extension for additional year. Convert to client FTE after 6-12 months.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities range from leading day to day activity of software development teams, to interfacing and coordinating activity between customer project teams, as well as supporting pureIntegration business development activities.  Responsibilities include:

• Leading development team: assisting with team resource interviewing/onboarding, interfacing and driving roadmap for development team, working with leadership to remove roadblocks, ensuring timelines are met, interfacing with client and PI leadership to escalate issues.
• Bringing strong understanding and experience building microservice architectures running on AWS EKS/Fargate/Kubernetes
• Microservice experience should include these or silimar technologies: Java (Spring framework), Javascript (Node.js), GraphQL, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Amazon SQS/STS, AWS Lambda
• Partnering with Scrum Master to run Agile ceremonies and maintaining development backlog for delivered development projects, including Sprint Planning, Standups, Grooming, and Retrospectives.
• Partnering with DevOps team to build and manage AWS Infrastructure to satisfy current and future roadmap needs
• Recognizing gaps in team capabilities where pureIntegration can help to add value or accelerate customer initiatives, and surfacing those opportunities to support business development
• Participating in the hiring process, including screen and interviews.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years hands on software development experience, ideally focused on Java, with demonstrable experience with other high level or scripting languages.
• 3+ years working with AWS specific capabilities including EKS and Fargate
• 3+ years working with Microservices, Containers, and Kubernetes deployments
• 3+ years leading teams with 10+ developers
• Ideally having worked with these or similar technologies: Kubernetes, AWS, EKS, Fargate, postgres, Oracle, Java (Spring framework), Javascript (Node.js), GraphQL, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Amazon SQS/STS, AWS Lambda
• Experience in delivering modern software development projects through the use of microservices, cloud-based architectures and mobile platforms.
• Working knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD and Test Automation.
• Hands-on experience in Agile-based software delivery, including leading Agile ceremonies.
• Proficiency with object-oriented development, data modeling, and design patterns.

Pay range is commensurate on an individuals experience, skills, knowledge and abilities. The annual salary range varies between $125k - $150K or $60-$70 Contractor Hourly 1099.
