Job Description

The Senior Accountant is a key member of the accounting team performing various month end close duties, FMC prep, as well as being a key participant in the forecasting process.

 

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Performing month end close duties; including but not limited to:  
    • Journal Entry preparation and review
    • Manage full general ledger review to verify, allocate, and reconcile transactions
    • Monthly preparation and review of Balance Sheet and P&L Close Schedules
    • Manage the completion of the Publicis Media Month end reporting package
    • Complete all intercompany transactions, resolves discrepancies and create invoices if needed
    • Help manage the work of the staff accountant at month end
    • Manage the HFM tie-out (which is completed by the staff accountant)
  • Forecasting/Reporting
    • Maintain Actuals vs. Budget on a monthly basis to increase efficiency of forecasting
    • Upload Forecast into HFM quarterly
    • Prepare client team non billable budgets monthly
    • Work with Client team to complete non bill budgets
    • Manage and review Capital expenditures
    • Work with AP/AR manager to assist with proper coding and resolve discrepancies
  • Audit
    • Coordinate and complete internal and external audit quarterly
  • Ad Hoc analysis and reporting
  • Travel and Expense report policy lead

Reports to the Director, Agency Finance

Direct report: Staff Accountant

 

Education Required

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance

 

Years of Relevant Experience

3-5 years of experience required

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP experience preferred
  • Hyperion Financial Management experience preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies

  • Knowledge and thorough understanding of US GAAP
  • Strong business acumen and logical problem solver
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work with diverse groups of people
  • Strong proficiency in Word, Outlook and advanced level Excel skills
